It's an X-linked recessive gene if I remember right, so if the dad is xY and the mom is xX then his dad would be a hemophiliac while his mom would be "normal". Then he winds up xY and assumes he got it from Dad. Phenotype vs genotype and all that.

I wonder how many customer support calls the Ubisoft store has to deal with that are just like that privacy invasion. Or at least they hoped they get people that are that upset about their Aiden figurine they just bought.

Even if you accept the idea that the serial killer was creating the displays specifically for Aiden to find, how did he get Aiden's phone number after the last body? He's shown no hacking knowledge, and from looking at his manifesto, it doesn't seem like he could deduce who Aiden was. Actually, looking at that note, how could he possibly be smart enough to find dozens of hemophiliac women.

I have this" Nicky's never coming back" poo poo happening in Black Flag. Every time I hit the sea or end a contract there one dialogue fires off. Heard it about 20 times now, but still not desperate enough to move on to the story.

The "Nicky's never coming back" thing is an entirely normal feature of open world games that's meant to remind the player what the next story mission is if they spend a ton of time doing a sidequest. It's only getting this histrionic reaction because C&I have cut together completing all the sidequests in a row. The voice in the madness digital trip is Damien. It's meant to represent Damien's influence on Aiden, and Aiden's subconscious perception of Damien. There's also a "Destroy or evade the police" objective in Madness. Madness is probably the hardest of the digital trips to complete, because one of the last objectives is some stupidly high timed killstreak (40, maybe?) and having your streak end once usually means you won't have time to try again. Waffleman_ posted:I like that both the serial killer and the victim were hemophiliacs. All of the victims had blood disorders- this is actually shown(again, the devs expected players to be paying way more attention to the profiler) at the individual crimescenes. It's also hinted at with the blood drawings. The serial killer, whose sanity was continuously degenerating over the course of his kills, developed the belief that they were infected by a demon that was trying to control his mind. Lobsterman posted:Didn't someone say something way earlier about how the serial killer was somehow Blume's fault, or was that a different thing? Yes. This is explained at the end. If it's not covered by C&I I'll go into it.

The dumbest thing about Nikki is in the dlc where you find an audio log/voicemail from Aiden she's moved to the Midwest and Aiden is hiding out there too. So basically no consequences for his actions again since somehow their relationship is okay

"Did the serial killer leave the clues because he wanted someone to find him? Did he want me to find him? No, he's just a sick gently caress that I needed to kill. In this, a city full of sick fucks that I will ritualistically hunt and murder forever." The only way to redeem Watch_Dogs 2 is to make Aiden Pierce someone the next protagonist of a future game hunts and takes down like the killer of this game. It will and can easily be a big uneventful letdown of a concept like its predecessor, just give us the sweet satisfaction of one self absorbed vigilante taking down another and for neither of them to see their own imperfections the entire time.

It's only getting this histrionic reaction because C&I have cut together completing all the sidequests in a row. Just because it's "normal" doesn't mean it's not badly done or annoying. This kind of thing happens to me all the time replaying Far Cry 3, because they have it set up to play certain sound bites whenever you start up the game. It doesn't happen with every story mission, but it does with the majority on the second island, making it very annoying to play the last half/third of the game in reasonable smaller chunks. Now obviously, having this feature at all isn't a bad thing, but you shouldn't be slapping the player in the face with it every hour or two. Trust your players and make it something they can activate, instead of something that goes "Hey! Stop having fun, there's plot to do!" at regular intervals.

I'm honestly surprised that hasn't been the gimmick for one of the missions even this late into the game; it seems like such an obvious and entirely fitting trick to play on the player. This reminds me, the tutorial at the baseball stadium was one of the best missions in the game because it was able to have the neat scripted moments and detailed environment that we saw in the previews.
