Only thing I hate about Spelunky HD is that it didn't have the cool music the first version had. That poo poo was really catchy.

The dev call-ins have been great. They must be screensharing to avoid the twitch delay, right? In the past dev commentary would always lag behind because of that.

I had a beer once with Stephen Miller and now I like him.

I also tried to ban someone from a Discord for pointing out what an unrelenting shithead I am! I'm even dumb enough to think it worked!
Gonna have to catch up on these games later.

How was Kero Blaster -> Snapshot?

Worth going back?

Any good runs from the last 12 hours or so? I woke up early enough to catch Spelunky, which was a fun watch.

They do have a checklists for techs each run (check mic, can runner see video, does runner have audio, etc) and they'll probably add it at some point.

To explain what a Coda run is for those who don't know.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TepMPeolSYE
This gets you an idea of how it looks. It's basically a rhythm game combined with a turn based RPG/rroguelike. You move to the beat, shown at the bottom with the lines, when it reaches the heart, you move in a direction. Moving into enemies attack, interacts with objects, etc. Enemies have set patterns so you can kill anything without taking damage yourself.

Now for coda, take away the health, you die in a single hit from any enemy.
Then take away all the weapons that make it easier to kill enemies, you're stuck with the basic dagger.
Next, you now instantly die if you miss a SINGLE beat, at any point.
Next, you now double the tempo for all songs.
Next, any enemy that dies drops gold. move onto a space with gold, you DIE.

I'm actually GOOD at rhythm games and rhythm things, but the timing for the enemies' attacks gently caress me up and I die at area 2 all the time.

Yeah, you probably won't learn too much from this run. It's just so far and beyond how a regular Necrodancer game is played.

Each of the characters Coda's modifiers are based on are a challenge in themselves, combining them all is just madness.

Yeah, this is probably the hardest "programmed" challenge run I can think of in a rogue-lite game. CoD is also hard as gently caress.
