The easier it is to make a good argument the less justified someone is for making a bad one. If they're so dumb then a good faith breakdown of their core message should be easy. Social security is something that you pay for in advance so its not exactly sucking off a teat.

Statistically most people taking SS today will not have contributed what they will take out, just FYI. I'm not going to do a good faith breakdown of what some racist moron says, you can go ahead though.

Don't you think this is a pretty lovely point? If that guy paid taxes he should be eligible for social security regardless of possibly having some nonspecific bad opinion. Just because the government helps him in one way doesn't mean that it can't do other things wrong. It's really a non-sequitur as far as this situation is concerned.
I think people are laughing at the hypocrisy of someone who says the federal government is bad and horrible and wants to engage in an armed standoff with them being unable to attend because he hasn't yet received his benefit from the federal government that wouldn't exist if their protest was taken to its logical conclusion. Not that he gets SS, pretty much everyone here thinks the program should be expanded and that folks should get more out of it. Like I would also point and laugh at a leftwing anti-vaxxer who came down with the measles.

Lol, we went from OH GOD IT'S THE 2013 41P STUFF AGAIN to ending CLEO signoffs. I take it back, this really is about background checks.

That has me thinking the rest of the changes are going to be minor and built to survive any court challenge, and also to make the inevitable all-the-guns-taken freakout look more crazy. This stuff's not a big deal.

That is a strange change as NFA firearms probably make up a veery small portion of guns used in crimes. I mean the change makes sense but it won't actually do much to fix the problem.

I'm sure he's not aware of this, but Madison's writings are not definitive of what the founding fathers intended, even if one wants to believe in the idiotic notion that the framers' intent should mean jack poo poo today. The first two major American political parties main point of contention was the relative power of the federal government versus the States. For the most part, Madison and the anti-federalists lost.

That's why I'm saying they actually mean it when they're talking background checks - the main point of gun trusts is evading the signoff requirement, not the background check. If this were about being as aggressive as possible with gun control under a pretext, they'd have kept the signoff requirement.

Still reading, but thus far this strikes me as housekeeping stuff that's being talked up like a major thing because right now is a great time for Dems to stir the pot.

Basically, the NRA packed the Judicial Committee to for the past few decades to ensure that only judges that are friendly to the 2nd Amendment get picked up, and its had a direct effect on the interpretation of the 2nd in the Federal Courts
