Reasonably solid, non-clown car performance. Need to bring in another centre back in the window, but that was true before Lovren did his hamstring. No point buying another striker, we won't get one that's as good as we need

We played really well I thought. Kept possession well, created a few good opportunities and we're good defensively. I knew Kolo wouldn't let us down. Man of the match for me. Firmino was pretty hit and miss but he got involved a whole lot more which was good to see. Honestly would rather he started up front against Arsenal than Benteke.

The scary thing is there is no longer a good spine to build from. In the past when we've underachieved I always had hope we could challenge with a few good buys as we had a scattering of world class or close to it in the side. There are a few very solid players (Clyne, Sakho, Henderson) and potentially a couple of great ones (Coutinho, Can) but none to really build a team around. The only thing close to a consistently top player we have is consistently injured. I'm an optimist though and I believe if there is anyone able to turn it around it's someone like Klopp. He's not a short term manager and has the intelligence and personality to get a team playing better than the sum of its parts. It's disappointing to be in a state of constant rebuilding but it's exciting to see new players and new ideas
