Instead of the cash registers, you place a mat on the floor for the merchant to stand at. I haven't got around to trying that out yet, but Homemaker does let you do the same thing with guard posts which I think works really well. I dunno if the two mods are compatible. e: Wait, is that what you're asking about or am I going in totally the wrong direction?

NMM's hot folder is where it downloads mods to & keeps the archives. to see where it is, click to two gears, and hit the fallout 4 tab in the settings panel that opens, the hot folder is at the top. there is a folder there called "virtualinstall", all the symlinks that go into your data folder point to stuff in there, all this stuff is new, so I am still getting my head around it as well. Fallout 4 and the NMM also have profiles, that Miiiight be whats interfering with your saves, I am not sure how to fix that though

at the moment. I've never had this many problems getting mods working in a Bethesda game and i used to mod Daggerfall back in the 90s.

Can't wait for Mod organizer 2 so I can shove NMM into a hole and bury it under 20 feet of cement.

For what it's worth, as someone who was real disappointed by Bethsoft on everything since Daggerfall, I've switched from STALKER (which is great but REALLY outdated) to FO4. The materials/crafting/settlement system, while I'm waiting for mods for, make the difference. But STALKER has what you're looking for.

I like this thread well enough of the three, though it's basically told me I need to wait for the mods to mature. I'll need a new save at least the once, and nothing like "i can't update this <broken> mod without a new save" and the ilk. I also keep hoping a lot of the settlement/crafting stuff gets snowballed into single mods, and at least one of those mods is well-done. I'm also really excited for mods that overhaul the settlement happiness/defense/etc, and how settlers behave -- make them repair broken objects if the resources exist, give happiness for more things, etc. Not to mention complete weapon overhauls a la Stalker's Arsenal that more closely match real life *without* being unfun. The modular weapon system has a lot of spoiled potential. But I'm quite hopeful the state of FO4 modding will get there. Just impatient.

New vegas' number of guns the main thing I'm looking forward to but it will probably be some time after the GECK comes out until new models can be added since something about the file format changed, which means just carting over things from fallout 3 and new vegas mods is not a 1 step process.
