All I've ever seen of King of Queens is this clip where Patton Oswalt stands completely still in the background for the entire scene. Does that make it good or bad? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2QE3JpWfTo

I had the tv on the other day and I guess Family Ties was on. I wasn't paying much attention but I saw one scene where Michael J. Fox was telling some kid how lucky he was to have been born during the Reagan years and grow up during the Bush years and that hopefully he would never see a Democrat president. I don't even care if you're playing that for laughs, you don't say that.

That aspect of Family Ties was supposed to make it "real" or whatever. Parents that'd been hippies having a son that was a hardcore Reagan Republican because it was the 80s.

Gonna be the nth person to say Two Broke Girls. The acting and script is as bad as those disney kid sitcoms. I am sincerely 100% convinced that the ONLY reason the show has not been cancelled is because of big boobs.

i like the walking dead and its funny how many people get viscerally angry about anyone liking the show but at least those people have actually seen the show so they are giving their honest opinion rather than just saying "glee" or "the view" or other shows that they've never actually seen. some people i know who hate the walking dead seem to love Z Nation and have had me watch a few episodes with them and i have to say that show is really loving terrible even by the very low bar that sifi shows can be measured by, its like the makers of those terrible hercules and xena shows made a zombie show.

I go home for lunch every day and my daily viewing is either Law & Order: SVU, Cops or Jail. Cops is bad but not the worst, most of the people being arrested are morons or methheads and 90% of the time if they weren't being massive sketchballs or hyperaggressive psychos they would walk away with a warning or a traffic ticket. Jail is kind of sad because it's a mix of total assholes who deserve it when they get strapped to a chair and masked, but here and there they pepper in "black girl teenager being dragged out of a cop car to jail for questioning a jaywalking ticket" and other depressing poo poo. Actually that whole show is loving depressing from start to finish. Cops and Jail are kind of bland white noise for when I'm eating and not actually paying attention to the TV, but jesus gently caress is SVU egregiously bad to the point of being offensive. I'm the typical cis-whitish-male but that one episode they did about the twins where they were both born male but raised one as female made me a little sick with how blatantly awfully they handled the subject matter. I think that nails down my problem - it's no more or less terrible in terms of dialogue and pacing than any of those other L&O/CSI shows, but for every episode it's like they looked up an article on the subject matter, read the first 20 comments on the article and used the majority opinion from the comments as the "correct" stance for the episode. It's absolute dreck and the only reason I leave those shows on is because the alternative is poo poo like Say Yes to the Dress or whatever garbage History/TLC/Discover are showing at 1PM on a weekday. Also Castle. My fiancee is obsessed with that show and therefore watches it all the time and holy poo poo is it bad. They literally give Nathan Fillion a police-style bulletproof vest with "WRITER" written on it instead of "POLICE." I get that there's this stupid "wacky non-police gets dragged into police stuff" trend with these shows, but I cannot fathom how they can justify letting a crime writer be among the first people granted access to a grisly murder scene. Not to mention the awful humor. Ugh.
