as long as we are talking art i'm going to say that i like the character art for Cold Steel quite a bit and i'm glad CSII ditches the school uniforms so everyone gets their own design i was also disappointed they had the 3d models as portraits in textbooks instead of 2d portraits

here is my final word, on art style: Sky: the in-game portraits are really expressive and good. the full body concept art is sometimes good, but sometimes bad, like Richard and his massive hands. i quite like the character designs too (i am very fond of SC Joshua and his cool scarf) Crossbell: They're by the guy who illustrated Baccano and from what I've seen of them they're good Cold Steel: Quality designs and art but it uses the 3d models for conversations in game

The real crime of the evo games is the HORRID fully animated openings they made, especially the one for SC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qcxPpdznmM casually spoils the whole game and has a lovely cover of the SC theme song.

Having played Cold Steel what I wouldn't give to play a remastered version of Trails in the Sky with the improvements from Cold Steel, especially in combat and traveling. Fast travel is a godsend, especially when you want to talk to every NPC.

in tits SC has anyone else experienced saves taking longer and longer as you play? at least I think it's saves. like i'll first notice the delay when moving from room to room getting longer (like due to the autosave), and then eventually it hangs for a few seconds on a black screen after battles (also probably the autosave?), and at that point manual saving from the menu also takes a long time. never had this happen in FC, don't think it happened in the early parts of SC either or maybe I just didn't play long enough to notice. also as this is happening the game kind of gets stuttery all around lets hang out fucked around with this message at 09:02 on Jan 9, 2016 |
