StormTalon
2x Predators along with Whirlwind/Stalker guns to be swapped out
Venerable Dread
3x 10 Tacticals
Assault Marines
Devastators

In approx the above order...

Let's see. Here's a rough list of things:
26x Blood Raven Marines in various states of assembly, painting or stripping
1x Captain
1x Razorback in need of a repaint
1x Leman Russ Hull
1x Chimera
42x IG Troopers of various types that needs to be assembled and painted

And then I was thinking of getting either the SM or IG start packs for an extra boost in units and I keep eyeing various other things on an auction site to try to get for cheap.
Really should've kept myself to just collecting old codexes.

Talking of Counts-as / Unbound / Narrative Forging I finally got around to finishing off my first set of 'Waaagh Demons' for use if/when I decide to take a Maelific Daemonology Weirdboy, or possibly as Daemonkin Allies:

3 units of 10 Bloodletters and a Khorne Herald.

I need to decide how to represent some of the other Daemons, I'm not sure how 'fantasy army in space' I want it to be. Ideas so far:

Bloodthirster: Wyvern / convert an actual BT with a big Savage Orc face
Fleshhounds: Boars / Boarboys / Large squigs / Couple of regular squigs per base
Bloodcrushers: Giant squigs (mangler sized), possibly with riders / swole rear end Savage Orcs converted from Minotaurs or something
Chariot: Boar chariot with Savage Orc riders

My first thought with the Terradon was to have it as a Farseer on Jetbike, but since Eldar aren't battle bros with my Catachan it would have to flap around on its own devices and be unable to use its best powers (Guide, Fortune, etc.) on anyone. I wanted a battle bro model that could bless units for some fun synergy. Blood Angels Librarians have some really neat synergistic powers, so I'm looking forward to that. I think I'll just mount the Terradon on a heavily-weighted 40mm base and tell opponents that all line of sight must see the guy on the Terradon's back - ignore the Terradon wings/etc. entirely. That should be pretty consistent with the size restrictions of plenty of jump-packed Space Marine HQ characters. Also not excited about having to move the big Terradon awkwardly in terrain pieces, but oh well...

Yes! I remember these guys! I say go all-out fantasy Warp-Orks. I also 100% cast my vote for Wyvern as Bloodthirster, as opposed to a Bloodthirster with Ork face. Do you have pictures of your Warp-Orks (Worpks?) next to your normal Orks? The more glowy and crazy the Warp-Orks look in comparison, the better.

Here's today's counts-as update from me. I've posted my Catachan snipers using Eldar rules before - here they are again for reference. Catachan fluffwise have fantastic snipers, but the IG Codex has no rules for them. Hence the counts-as allies.

Robert Muldoon (Illic Nightspear):

Deathworld Sniper Unit 1 (Eldar Rangers)

Deathworld Sniper Unit 2 (Eldar Rangers)

Deathworld Assault Team (Striking Scorpions - they have glowy displacement vest power generators on their backs for a 3+ save, and poisoned throwing knives for Mandiblasters)

Just got the new Eldar Craftworlds book for Christmas, and that made a HUGE difference in the list - with the changes to Eldar Pathfinders, a ton of free points opened up. So I made one more Assault Team member (on left with glaive) and three more Snipers. The one on far right is an homage to SRM's Valhallan's. I asked SRM what to put on the chainsword, so he sent me some words translated into Russian (apparently this says "motherfucker").

I also need to finish their Power Loader (War Walker). But first, my Taurox!

Actually there's no more hand sculpting any more at all, as Thundercloud said the Dominus is the very last one that was sculpted then scanned. Everything is done in CAD, I forget the name of the program they use but they'll tell you if you ask. I spoke with Jes a couple of events ago, he had the original Dominus model there and explained how it was scanned then bemoaned the lack of not only hand sculpting now but also that the model designers (like him) aren't credited in the books any more. I've noticed the model designer credits are gone from the Forge World catalog as well.

GW seems pretty keen on stripping creator credits and such from everything now. The newest revision of WD has stripped away any mentions of writers and editorial staff comments it seems based on a comment made by a friend who still reads it occasionally.
They've gone so far as to omit author names in the Black Library newsletters as well for their book releases as far as I've noticed. It's kind of absurd.

I definitely wasn't implying that the sculptors have left, I just feel that the models have lost something with the advent of CAD-exclusive modelling. It's worked for things like space marines so far because they have tons of established parts to tinker with and modify. The actual new things lack the same flow, character, and attention to detail the older sculpts had. I mean, look at the stormcast or the new naked fire fyre dwarfs and you'll see what I mean. Their anatomy is completely screwy and their poses are awful. At least the stormcast have the benefit of being covered in armor.

Sometimes a pretty dubious benefit when they can't see over their own pauldrons.

Yeah, there's a real issue with GW's modellers, somehow, they seem to be way too detail-focussed and never to really take an overall view of what they're doing. Every little detail is perfect and looks nice, but the overall view is messy, lacking in flow, and so overloaded with fiddly poo poo that you can't actually see what's going on.

At least FW is using CAD software that imitates hand-sculpting. Was at a FW Open Day a while back, I can't remember who I was speaking to but stuff like the Solar Auxilia is being made like that:

I get that FW have more time per release, but still, it just goes to show what you can do with CAD.

Still not sure about having to pay a landraider tax to get them into battle (foot slogging them isn't great, and they can't shoot, so having them pile out a Rhino is a free turn of shooting). But when they're painted I'll no doubt want to field them more often, since painted models are way more satisfying to field.

Awesome, I was hoping they'd have a crazy contrast with the rest of the army. As for my Eldar, I think the "Bionicle" theme is filled out - any future units will probably be the standard tan with vines, though I might scatter the occasional Bionicle symbol around for old time's sake.

Here's my power loader War Walker, affectionately referred to in every single game as the "Get Away From Her You Bitch" after the line in Aliens. It fits in the 500pt allied list with my Deathworld assault squad and snipers from earlier.

It used to play as a Venerable Dreadnought in my Squat list, but was replaced by the cutie below who was more in keeping with the theme. Luckily the points reductions in the new Eldar Codex allowed the power loader to fit into that allied list with the snipers, after some weapon swaps which needed to be re-painted.

And here's my converted Taurox. My grenadier meltavets used to ride a Chimera, but by swapping it for this Taurox I save 10pts and can add a third meltagun to the squad.

The pictures are a little washed out (apparently my phone lens was fogged and I didn't notice). Also noticed a few tiny final things needed (highlight Taurox gunner's bandana, paint silver on the Taurox door hinges, and a bit of blacklining on the power loader gun), but overall I'm happy with them.
