Also Dark Arisen's been out for a while on console so they're not completely blind about what kind of data is there to tinker with. Still, I'd like to see someone at Capcom try to explain how a 5 day early hack somehow shows no interest in the product.

I'm not 100% positive but I'm pretty sure the only reason it leaked is because they hosed up a flag in their Steam packages. :v:

I read on the Steam forums that the leak is a review copy. But that forum is a strange place, some people are talking about getting a refund and playing the pirated copy, they complain about having to wait another week while pirates can already play, all of which according to another person is an attempt to troll/create drama by 4chan and reddit. There are people defending piracy using those "it's not stealing" arguments from 15 years ago, I feel so old right now.

Also why would you (seriously) play a cracked offline only version of a game like DD?

There are pawns which come with the game, and as a bonus they aren't all preteen girls in thongs.

There is however Special seems to have changed the group so anyone can't invite people to it. It's more important to get everyone on your friends list for pawn sharing, so ask people in #dogmagoons or #steamgoons on synirc to add you.

It's funny, some of my more favorite pawns I've gotten have been generated by the game. Unless I want to play with Obama, Griffith, or human abomination #322 I tend to prefer the NPC pawns.

Well, I just bought this game for the third drat time, Good job Capcom.

I just hope that this will be enough to give us a proper sequel a few years down the line but with Capcom you never know, sometimes it feels like they are making their buisness decisions with a drat wheel of fortune.

They've straight up said that how well this sells will affect whether they push for a sequel or not.

Yeah, I've read this as well but Capcom makes some weirdass choices and priorities sometimes, although at least they aren't Konami.

Do you think if you download the leak and play it you can transfer a save over when the actual game comes out? I already bought it so I basically own the game already, but I figure if I can get a week of play in already I can get a really quick Ur kill in on release day.

I've bought Morrowind and DMC4 from them before and nothing's gone wrong. (DMC4 even had the pre-order DLC even though I wasn't pre-ordering)

ideally since the pawn listing won't be a wreck due to mixing with dark arisen you should be able to rate them accordingly and send them back with garbage like you could when the original game came out. loved that feature

A softban is when you're still allowed to play the game freely, but not any of the online features (DD's only online feature is, of course, the pawn emporium). There is no evidence that DD will feature softbans and there really is nothing you can do that would warrant being softbanned anyway.

If I'm remembering, fights are engaging and fun enough that it's more fun to just run around everywhere anyway.

There is a teleportation system in the game.

The PC port has better textures and a bunch of graphics options of course, along with the all-important option to tell your pawns to shut up permanently. There is a fast travel system, but it is DIY - you basically put up homing beacons to teleport to. Cyclops climbing is of course in, as is griffin riding.

This has the DLC included, which gives you like 10 fast travel waypoints you can teleport to. Honestly though figuring out all the shortcuts to get around faster on foot is fun, but I'm glad for more teleporters.

I wouldn't mind running around in the early game instead of fast traveling so much if there wasn't that canyon in the middle of the map that you have no way of getting around except for going through. Thankfully you don't have to travel through it that many times but it's a pretty annoying windy detour full of trash mobs.

The thing I am wondering about most is how well the PC port will handle non-standard/ultra-wide resolutions. I just hope the UI doesn't end up all stretched out and terrible looking.

According to threads on the Steam forums ultra-wide resolutions are hosed.

The ui scales properly, iirc. Supporting weird resolutions /aspect ratios was one of the things they were aiming for iirc

Hell, console dd runs at a weird ratio because of the letter boxing
