for another taster, spent a little while watching some of our friends knocking and tapping on some Greek statues at the local museum. Like they just started gathering round when one woman started knocking on it. eventually the security came and scattered them all, but they just walked away chatting to each other as if nothing had happened. the security guard gave me an exasperated look. i imagine he has to deal with such groups often, and would rather deal with an art thief or something, more logic involved.

I have a buddy of a buddy who works in Hebei and he told us about this curious case recently. For a few years now, they have been chasing a foreigner who is usually accompanied by a college age female Chinese accomplice, though the accomplice changes frequently.
This foreigner pops up all over Hebei and beyond in remote villages, asking locals in rotten toneless mando where he can find a section of the wall that would produce good photos. The locals suggest he often goes into a kind of trance where he mumbles "karma" over and over and his nose starts dripping blood into his goatee.
The rumours persist that the foreigner acquires his target and pounces, often spending several hours at a small section of the wall, carving a hole into the sandstone or mortar, then rapes the wall unceremoniously while his erstwhile partner in crime rubs herself through three layers of sequinned pants.
Once the foreigner has had his fill he takes a few photos, always featuring the part he recently consummated, but far enough away that nobody would know by glancing at the picture that what they are witnessing is an unholy matrimony of crumbling masonry and carbon-monoxide-poisoned jizz.
His identity is unknown, as is his reason for taking the sordid pics, though the police seem to think he gets a sexual release from tricking others into looking at them.
