Apparently there's more to the day than wearing green and drinking heavily.

How could her generation have been raised on tales of Oprah Winfrey? Surely you can't be raised on tales of someone overcoming their dire circumstances if they are the same age as you and won't become well known until you are in your twenties. I wonder if she just had to pick someone to try pretend that it wasn't consisted ok to be overtly racist when she was young.

Only people bitching about milennials are fucks dependant on them to feed/medicate them. The problem with that is that same generation absolutely hosed us all.

In England, St Patrick's day is bigger than the English equivalent St George's day, just because it's an excuse to drink.

Ireland does pretty well off the stereotype - go to Dublin and it's all tourist stuff based around Guinness, whisky, and music. I wouldn't worry too much. My dad is fully Irish, born over there then moved here, and I can't say I've ever really cared about people celebrating it the way they do and I doubt he does either.

Radials mean that you get a flat tire once a decade if that. It's usually in your driveway from picking up a nail. You used to get them all the time with bias-plys. I haven't had to change a tire on the road for probably close to 20 years. That in mind, one must know how to change a tire. Even though it's rare, it's easy. If you're not in a city, good luck getting someone to help you. I also miss card catalogs. PALS was a good replacement in the '90s, but the current web-based system sucks balls. Too much distraction. I can find books on Amazon, but can't find them on my library's ridiculous website.

Their big ideas were the Guiness factory, the Jameson factory, and river dancers at a hole in the wall "dinner and a show" place. I wanted to slap the poo poo out of all of them.

There just seemed like a lot more cities with a lot going on. Dublin came off as tourist central for the country. If you lose a war that you bear the biggest share of guilt for starting, it's not the enemy's incompetence you should be talking about.

To be fair, the countries he is calling incompetent are the Austro-Hungarians and the Ottomans, not the Allies. He actually is correct in that losing WWI (which was in part due to Germany's allies being pretty useless) and having to sign the Treaty of Versailles ruined Germany and created a ton of anger and resentment towards the rest of Europe over the next couple decades, which the Nazis exploited to take power.
