Being mad about sentient machines having genders strikes me as intensely pointless. Heaven forbid there be something to help us tell apart the literally hundreds of Transformers, it's not like their sheer numbers make them start to blend together after a while! Preemptive "no one cares about your pronouns"

The argument that they don't have gender falls apart when every character is drawn or modelled as masculine, behaves in a male-coded manner, uses male pronouns and are in every identifiable way, dudes. For sheer variety's sake, let alone diversity and letting little girls have characters like them be kick-rear end robot cars, there should be lady-bots.
