Korean scans are out for the new chapter. Holy loving poo poo this chapter. Azami was a member of the dorm (3rd seat in his first year, and then 1st seat in his second year), and admired Souma's dad. Also Souma tells Azami (and Erina happens to listen) to the fact that he's Jyoichiro's son.

There's an elite culinary group called the "Circle of the Demon Kings of Food"?  Also, I love Soma's face in the last few pages. Just a mix of utter confusion and being completely nonplussed about food satan being his dad's number one fan. It's great.

I like that he was the god-tier chef that everyone looked up to, and then he left and started what was basically a country diner, and paid for it by flying all over the world to do crazy fancy chef things every once and awhile. Nobody's running that old restaurant right now, right? It's been awhile, but I think it's closed down. Souma's dad seems way less impressive when his kouhai is running a fairly successful hostile takeover of an entire cooking academy and his other friend is the #1 consultant for like, multiple hotel empires. Of course, I'm fine with him staying out of the picture until he has a shokugeki with Souma to close out the series.

Yeah, it's closed until either Souma graduates or his dad finishes up with his current worldwide tour. Wouldn't be surprised if Jouichiro occasionally dropped by to keep the place in good shape, though. Souma did it.

Azami's entire scheme is probably a tsundere scheme to get Senpai to notice him because he's mad that Jouchiro dropped out of the culinary world or some poo poo so it will probably just piss him off. Erina will probably be pissed off at Soma also (for tsundere reasons) and will ratchet up the tsun also, but Soma will just write it off that Erina's being a bitch again as usual.

So Jouichiro is the Sasuke Uchiha of this series. Gotcha. Erina having her “Oh crap! I've spent the better part of my first year of High School antagonizing the son of the man I admire!” moment was loving beautiful. Rindou continues to be the best, though.

I'm surprised they're already setting up Shokugeki's with the rest of the Elite 10. I really don't see them being too many matches with these guys because if any of the characters were to lose they'd be expelled and I really doubt any of the 10 will lose so soon after Eizan's defeat. I can't tell if I want Erina to double down on despising Souma more because he's Saiba's son and should be much better at cooking because of that or to just chill out on hating him all the time since him being Saiba's son explains why and how he's managed to survive ~however many months the series has been going on at this point- in Tōtsuki. Still bummed that Rindou went antagonist though.
