how much would that change though? does japanese samus go yo adam-sama thank you so much for locking me in this room for my own good also i like that implicit bit of characterization, samus has no direct dialogue until the end when she gets pissed off at adam which means she wasn't being a silent protagonist in all the other mission briefings, she just never felt like responding

Here's another JP My Nintendo promotion: owners of Monster Hunter X can get Majora's Mask 3D, Xenoblade 3D, Fire Emblem Fates and Monster Hunter Diary DX for 30% off until the 18th.voltcatfish posted:I have questions... What I meant was, you'll be eligible for the birthday coupon as long as you sign up before the 24th of that month; the actual date of your birthday doesn't matter. For example, say My Nintendo launches on March 10 but your birthday is March 9 - as long as you sign up before the 24th of that month, you should still get the discount.

Federation Force might not be bad. It might even be pretty good. Unfortunately, no one wants a Metroid game where you play as the dead guys you scan for lore.

I thought the game started out as some kinda weird gun sports game called Blastball, but halfway through development they shoehorned in Metroid? Kinda like how Dinosaur Planted became Starfox?

Federation Force was set up to fail. We're cold off the heels of the disaster that was Other M still begging for a new, real Metroid. Thought to be unrelated, this new "Blast Ball" game got a very tepid response at the Nintendo World Championships. Then we find out that it's the new Metroid game we've been asking for? It's just disappointing all around.

All I want from the Metroid series right now is to have them try to make a 2D game that is completely scary and immersive that rewards exploration with upgrades that increase mobility and turn Samus into more and more of a nuclear option in unexpected ways. I'd also like them to reintroduce the beam combinations that only appeared in Super Metroid where you can turn on and off upgrades to create different types of beams and bombs. Give me increasingly more disturbing looking giant bosses that require me to damage race until I figure out their weakness or clever way to use my weapons and the surrounding scenery to destroy the boss with.
