You keep your stats/levels/vocation ranks, and all your stuff gets dumped into your storage. The game forces you to re-select a base level vocation at the start of the game, but you can swap it right back.

Enemies don't get any stronger, so your character will be quite overpowered. There are a handful of differences though. IIRC you can access the Ur-Dragon from Cassardis, you can buy more portcrystals, your current portcrystals are still set up in the locations that you used them, and merchants have their endgame inventory in stock (which also means you can give Madeleine a Golden Idol to access all of her equipment while still retaining Caxton's Golden Idol stock if you gave it to him on the initial playthrough).

Take women guest pawns. Dress your men like women. (Lady's garb, Captain' armor (like what Mercedes wears), that might be it) Maybe take off their beards.

Nah, you didn't miss much. She just has a little quest that's very similar to the one the male bandit leader gives you.

Named NPCs respawn after a week (and are maybe chill after two) everywhere else and they're all eligible for other game features, so... why wouldn't they?

There are a couple exceptions, like Reynard (who's an event quest right out of Gran Soren the first time and can be lost for the playthrough if you skip him). If someone's in plot danger you might want to haul rear end to save them.

So I... think I finished the game? I've got a throne I can sit in to run around invisible in gran soren/cassardis and kill whoever I want, and a big ol' empty room to reign over. This is the end, right? Do I just start a new game or whatever? I guess it's a pretty sick burn on the endgame of bethesda-style RPGs, if nothing else.

You have a new item in your inventory. Try using it.

If you don't want your pawn to be an acquisitor, you can use The Chair to change their behavior.

Edit: after who knows how many years, I finally found a ringtone to replace the Saints Row the Third theme: "At the End of a Deadly Battle" :black101:

Oh, well now I feel a bit dumb. I did get that item way earlier, though, which made that cutscene sort of odd.

Is new game+ automatically on hard or do I have to specifically make my new game on hard mode?

Utilitarian/mendicant should work well. Buffs when necessary, heals when you don't need buffs.
