Last Buffalo posted:Something tells me the lease has very little to do with Doobie's closing. I don't think the landlord can go "welp, get out" with only a few weeks to go. From memory he never had a standard commercial lease, let alone multi-year renewal options. Realistically, he's lost gently caress all anyway because it was funded on other people's money. Pastry of the Year posted:I would stay at the terrifying Economy Inn, just up the road from the Dog House, in order to see Doobie's hilarious day in court From the one review on TripAdvisor, bolding mine Attended a football game in Tuscaloosa Alabama and stayed at this hotel (25+ miles away). Positives: - Price in relation to what you would have to pay in Tuscaloosa; night & day difference. - Clean - Obvious that it has been renovated - Quiet Negatives: - Not a single place in (my) room to hang clothing - TV picture quality horrible - Believe that price could be a little bit better for what you are actually getting - Ok for guys traveling; wife would not have been happy.

CrashCat posted:Except it wasn't only other people's money, he ended up going for a second attempt at begging for money and eventually ended up selling a boat and a bunch of other stuff, as well as trying to get enough Twitter followers for a loan He did sell a couple of things and he was also planning on using his small amount of retirement money from his old job, but it was a few thousand of his own money at most which he sunk into the diner. He can make at least a little of that back by selling the stuff which isn't fixed. What we don't know is whether he's borrowed to keep going since he launched. It seems odd to close the Diner before he even has a job. If he closes it at the end of the week, he's got no money at all coming in until he gets his first pay check. Even a little money is better than none, so I'm wondering if he doesn't have the funds to pay next month's rent on either the diner or the auto-shop (which would be dirt cheap rent). Even if he's on month to month, his landlord can still charge him rent as long as he's got poo poo in the space, so he hasn't given himself much time to empty out both shops.
