How the hell do I play as a Mystic Knight? I just tried it out for the first time and I cannot get a handle on how to properly play as one. Any tips?

If you're coming at MK from being a mage, your staff spells are as fine as ever. If you were previously a fighter, your sword skills still work a treat. The magic shield is mostly for casting unique elemental enchantments on itself that trigger on blocks (with perfect blocks conferring amplified effects.) More advanced MKs gain access to sigil spells that affect the ground around them, mass enchants for the party's weapons, and cannon orbs that fire spellshot at enemies when struck. Experiment, combine and synergize - a Mystic Knight has a clever answer to the conundrums of combat.

So far my experience has been trying to use the shield, pulling off a couple perfect blocks and sending dudes exploding off into the void, and then getting completely owned because I have no idea when the right time is to cast my enchantments or use my mace. MK is like the only class in the game I genuinely didn't enjoy playing. It just feels like a weird mishmash, even if it's tremendously effective (and believe me, it is, especially when you get the cannon spells) that never gelled like Magic Archer or Assassin.

I tend to prebuff for fights and then if it's going long enough to need to rebuff I pull back behind my ranged pawns. The buffs are generally powerful enough that they will kill anything that isn't a boss before they run out, and bosses you should be cannon stacking.

One of my pawns glitched out and got the bloody corpse of a direwolf stuck on her sword. She'd be swinging her sword and the corpse's limbs would be all flopping around madly, and then she'd sheathe her sword and turn into some kind of freaky dead wolf-centaur thing with its face stuck in the ground:

I really enjoy Mystic Knight, I play him like a Fighter but the mace weapons are awesome and the shield skills add some variety to the usual button mashing combat. On another note, I just checked Nexusmods for the newest development and the sheer amount of different nude mods is unsettling. Yes, a nude mod for the player character, whatever. But five different ones and another one for Quina? I still hope for something that adds new content, or randomize the monster spawns on the mainland. So far its infinite sprinting, infinite tits and a thousand ENB shaders.

Is there any way to get a Sorcerer pawn to consistently finish their casting instead of start casting->cancel cast after 5 seconds-> inch a tiny bit forward-> start casting again? Edit: Living armor's are annoying to fight as a physical class, because you're 100% reliant on your pawns to finish them off. Broken Cog fucked around with this message at 09:37 on Jan 21, 2016 |

Does post-Daimon chest 4 just not drop Gear 3s anymore? I swear I've reset until I'd seen over a dozen perfect crystals but never a Gear. I know they were rare but being this unlucky is kind of nuts.

Texture replacers, simple variable changes, and pre-configured ENB settings are all easy to set up. Stuff that fundamentally changes gameplay mechanics like spawns or stuff that adds whole new content is going to take a lot longer (if it's even possible since apparently the game's engine is known for being a little wonky with regards to modding).

Escort quests are not tied to stage progression, I think, but to the NPCs affinity, raise it with gifts and the quest reappears. Do Escort quests count for the Hero achievement? (do all non-notice board quests)

Woohoo, someone finally rented out my pawn. I got a handful of rift crystals, a couple of decent ratings, a compliment, a half-empty lantern and a poison arrow. Are there any tips on what people are looking for in a Strider or Ranger pawn at various levels (currently high 20s, I've been messing around with side quests and not yet started the Wyrm Hunt)? I've been loading up on the best equipment that fits the look I'm going for, and using the same skills as the Arisen (also a Strider/Ranger). I'm also looking for another set of magic daggers because I currently only have the one, but I'm assuming I'll bump into more as the game goes on.

Mystic Knight is fun even though I've set up my abilities to be rather Risk/Reward. Stone Forest takes about 7 seconds to fire off, but it absolutely ruins everything it hits. Grand Cannon and Ruinous Sigil Are a ridiculous combo, the main reason I was able to just absolutely shred the Drake early.

Inclinations are important on every pawn, but they seem extra important for Strider/Ranger. For Ranger I think Utilitarian/Challenger or Utilitarian/Mitigator are the best combo depending on what kind of enemies you want them to target first. Scather seems like and obvious choice, but that from what I have seen that makes the pawn climb large enemies. For a ranger you want them hanging back and dealing big ranged damage. For a strider you probably want Scather to make them climb all the big bad guys. As a long term goal you will probably want to get them to vocation rank 10 as a warrior just for clout augment. A 20% boost in strength is a big boost in damage. But like I said don't worry about that kind of thing at level 20. I found a nice guide for changing pawn inclinations today. Get the inclination potions from the vendor at the encampment. Buy 7 potions of the whatever you want for primary inclination, 5 of the secondary, and 3 of the hidden tertiary inclination. Drink the 3 tertiary first, the 5 secondary next, and the 7 primary last. I tried this out and it work perfectly. Should cost 3750 rift crystals so its not very expensive.

What kind of level should I be looking at to kill this drake in devilfire grove? It's kicking my rear end at level 25, I could probably stay alive but it'd take about 30 mins to kill it. Or is it more gear level that's important?

This game is delightfully intimidating in terms of scope. I've basically just started, and I'm kicking around just doing some sidequests after killing the Hydra. Any really crucial stuff I should know? Any items I should/shouldn't craft? Also, is there a way to get the game to stop swapping back into keyboard mode? I accidentally refused to fund Madeleine because I hit some random key doing something-or-other and the game was like "oh you want to say no, gotcha".

It was taking me forever to kill it earlier in the game and I got so bored trying that I let it kill me. After I went back with a pawn who knew the ice enchant it went down super easily. I think he takes 140% or 150% ice damage so that adds up fast.

The Queens Clothing is one of the best pieces of gear in the game in terms of stats/weight and you get for for free in your bank. But don't wear it if you feel like it would be cheating. If you want to go for maximum cheese on the hardest bosses later, you absolutely want Fournival to be found innocent in the Trials and Tribulations quest

I think they are starting to fix friends showing up in the rift. I went from 45 visible friends in the rift a few hours ago to 70 now. Either that or I just needed to restart steam to force it to update.

I tried to do Mercedes' escort mission late in the game and while she was still hanging around in the keep, but no matter how high I raised her affection, it didn't reappear. I'm guessing you can't get it anymore when you get to the stage where you can pick up the quest to accompany her to the northern fort. Also yeah, I know most random minor npc's have their own escort missions, which is pretty funny. I just wish there were more unique rewards for doing them.
