As I said I haven't watched the whole run yet but I'm surprised that at no point they've ever been like "Agents Ringo and Paul, FBI" and someone hasn't responded "Yeah, whatever, sure you are, do you think these are werewolves we're dealing with here?"

Hey I can actually catch it live tonight rather than watching it on Hulu later! Come on, more Lucifer! (Also I sort of love "shaving people, punting things" although I would have expected it to be the title of a Misha youtube)

This is by far the most interesting thing to happen to Castiel (and arguably any main character) since like the end of Season 5. Also Cas isn't really improving his pedigree among the angels - Literally allowed Lucifer to take control of my body ✓ computer parts fucked around with this message at 08:06 on Jan 21, 2016 |

I've long been of the opinion that Supernatural is at its best when it does funny. The lack of character development and sudden deaths of side characters easily kills drama (especially after 10 years of the same bullshit), but the charisma of the actors always manages to save the day when they're given the chance to be funny for a whole episode.

I did find it strange that Sam watched that flashback and didn't even ask "oh poo poo I forgot about that, how's my brother doing?". I guess it makes sense that they didn't appear in the temporary cage they were all talking in, but I was definitely hoping for more closure than that. They only really even mentioned Michael too when they were talking, Adam just got the 2 second flashback. I'm not sure what you mean by being able to get out of the cage without letting Lucifer out. If he could have there's no reason he wouldn't. Anyway either the writers are saving some big story line involving them later, or more likely, they just aren't convenient for the story so they're just brushing them under the rug. e: in general I thought it was a pretty good episode. I didn't see the Castiel thing coming at all. You'd think that guy would have learned his lesson about trying to save the world by now. Sam and Dean have had some pretty bad plans, but Castiel's always tend to the extreme side on the gently caress-up scale. Maybe I missed this but is Castiel in the cage now, or can 2 angels live in the same vessel? I hope they don't write him off after this plotline as being "too damaged" from either sharing a host with lucifer or from being in the cage. Jimmy is long gone and between the deaths and resurrections and becoming human for a time and whatnot, I think that's not so much Cas inhabiting a vessel as much as it just is Cas. So he should still be in there with Lucifer.

I hope not. I mean now Lucifer's out, maybe Michael can get sprung too in order to deal with Lucifer. I'd sorta love it if they bring him back too but on the other hand, if they do, I'm not sure where the show can go besides a rehash of season 5. WELP, GOTTA STOP THE APOCALYPSE....AGAIN

Making a dark horse bet that they'll resolve the whole thing of "how are we not hosed with Lucifer loose again" by making him do an out-of-character sacrifice to defeat the Darkness.

Isn't Gabriel still around? I know they say in the show he is dead but wasn't there an episode where Metatron tricked Castiel and used Gabriel in his illusion? I thought they hinted that he could still be alive.

Yeah if the literal devil was telling the truth. I mean he definitely could be but I'd say it's equally likely he was lying to make himself appear to be the best option. Honestly, they're probably not gonna bring Michael back, but it's kinda fun to speculate. Now if they brought Gabriel back, that would be even better.
