Surprisingly, there's a decent amount of room in the engine bay, once you remove the crash supports. Luckily, the guy is a good fabricator, and just made new ones out of tube. I hope there's an update soon, because it's a bonkers idea. I want to see it autocross.

According to SuperStreet (http://www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/transmission-drivetrain/1306-honda-engine-drivetrain-weights/), the J32 with tranny is 550#, while the L15A should be about 270-280# (10% lighter than a D-series). I'd be interested to see the corner weights, since the Fit is heavily front-biased stock (~60/40 weight dist), and he's added 180# to the nose.

I would just like to remind people that the Regera can break traction instantly on demand at any speed from 0-280kph on dry pavement. Which was also mentioned when the video was posted on the previous page

I was wondering who schmee was from this comment so I googled him and found his website. Will not link it because it had an auto redirect that busted through both Ad-Block and my anti-virus online extensions in Chrome to send me to a trojan page telling me my computer was infected, along with a recurring pop-up message that prevented me from closing the tab. Had to CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE and murder the gently caress out all the chrome processes to get away from it. Not even the seediest sites have managed that poo poo on me before. Now running a scan on my computer for entitled trust-fund youtuber gonorrhea. So yeah, I hope someone shits in his coffee every day for the rest of his god drat life.

Due to this discussion I watched a few Schmee vids. He just seems to exist to prattle on about a bunch of bullshit that nobody in their right mind should care about, the cars he drives get a bit of a mention, they're always great, he always enjoys it but nothing actually happens much in them. He goes for a tootle to places... I get the idea he doesn't know much about cars or knows how to drive any of the weapons he has properly so you get this dumpy little fat-tongued dweeb talking a bunch of shite for 20 minutes or half an hour at a time. ...but then this is youtube and a lot of 'popular' channels are utter shite.

In the topgear thread someone mentioned a new "James May's cars of the people". I found a version (audio and some video lost when he's at the track with Damon Hill and the e-type s3 and the Datsun 260z) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu40-JRqFlQ It's all a bit of wank really, crying about BMW. Worth it for the 1980-83 mazda 323 at the end, haven't seen a good one of those for a while (got my partner to buy one about 1996, and we ran it into the ground and got rid of it in 2008 -still running, but faded metallic paint, 2(!) spots of rust, valve stem seals worn, gear shifting a little bit poo poo ) In other words a reliable trooper that pretty much *runs* forever (ours was a 1.5l with 5spd man with a decent amount of go). E: I learnt how FWD works with that car, also babbys first vacuum solenoid emission controls - already know carburettors well, just that all emissions were previously removed from my rotarys so never saw them before. A friend of mine has an 84 (I think) 323 sedan that he tootles about in. It's in real nice condition, no rust whatsoever.
|
# ? Jan 29, 2016 14:26 |

Yeah, the only rust was on the back hatch really, which that car lacks! They were really good cars. Unfortunately not loved because you couldn't put a rotary in it like the previous (rubbish) RWD mazda 323, or any previous mazda really. So they all went to the scrappers.* E: They sold a lot in Australia and really made the brand (much like the 3 does now), also Ford used the chassis for the ford "laser" which we got instead of any small euro ford from 1980, so it killed the escort name - no mk3 here. * They were worth nothing and you could put your arse in a 2nd hand later model for next to nothing, making a significant engine upgrade too, from the carb 1.5L e5 to the efi 1.6L b6, or 1.8L BP Fo3 fucked around with this message at 14:53 on Jan 29, 2016 |

Oh man, that reminds me so much of my first car, a 1988 Corolla 1.3 sedan Mine wasn't nearly that cool (or rust-free), though.

# ? Jan 29, 2016 15:38 |

Every time I go in it I just smile, it's such a ridiculous car in 2016, a tin box with tiny pillars and a side exit exhaust that makes so much noise. It's not fast at all but outside of supercars there's not really much that has the sort of road presence of a sparkly old shitbox bwarping its way down the road.
