Mark Trail Featuring Popeye the Sailor Man
So, here we are with another story arc that begins with an absurdly thin premise about a nature story no one would ever actually write, and ends with assault-weapon-toting terrorists/drug dealers/human traffickers trying to murder the gently caress out of the hero. Anyone else getting the impression that the jam esallen didn't really want to do Mark Trail in the first place, and is slowly transitioning the comic into Mack Bolan instead?

I'm not complaining, it's just weird. I mean, back in the days when the wild Jackelrod roamed free, we usually got a steady stream of Mark going on vacation and running into poachers, or hillbillies with shotguns, or wife-beating deer-haters, with occasional detours for Rusty to befriend a small animal before getting his head stuck in a window or something.

I accidentally posted today's yesterday. Fortunately, Tiggum went ahead and posted yesterday's today! It's the first strip in that series, in case you got it in your head you want to scroll past edits in this thread for some reason.

The Amazing Spider-Man

I'm pretty sure Namor went over this with you already, MJ. Pay attention.

Sally Forth

I probably thought this strip started in the 90's because Sally is a very 90's kind of woman. She's a level-headed straight-talking responsible 90's lady having a job and raising a kid and being respected by a husband and getting poo poo done!

Also Nona is a time traveler or maybe she just has Benjamin Button disease.

The Heart of Juliet Jones

There is finally a use for all of those rotten turtleneck sweaters in this strip.

"Here we see the Lamprey in a defensive posture. By inflating it's hollow trunk and pulling the excess skin over its head, it has the appearance that it is being consumed by an even larger predator. Notice the bright red and black stripes which signal "Danger!" to any potential predator or other opportunist that happens by. In this case it appears that her potential mate is not interested and she is a bit confused as well as agitated being that it is the spawning season and she is gravid with eggs. After spawning, she would normally consume her mate in order to protect her numerous young. Instead she will have to settle for the underside of a passing trout."

Of course, they're the Phantom's kids and they wander around the Deep Woods for fun. I know we don't see them getting into much trouble, but the jungle is, unsurprisingly, More Dangerous than it Looks Comix.

It started in the 80s, but modern Sally Forth is certainly more informed by Ces than the original Greg Howard stuff.
