A fine Achewood vintage- not as subtle and earthy as i'm used to, but well seasoned nonetheless. Bruno was the baddest pit bull in the yard. He wasn't clipped, so he looked like a brown watermelon with nuts. Did the chick dogs want him? Yeah, they wanted him. But he had some Achewood to taste. Expensive-rear end Achewood from the Washington steppes. Bruno paused. He turned a little and looked at his nuts in the mirror. "Now that's what I'M talkin' 'bout," he said.

I've been enjoying the new run, but the newest comic is the first in a long time that felt entirely natural & achewoody. Good comic, good god!

That is good Achewood. Between that and the Philippe blog entry I'd say Lyle is one of the characters whose voice is coming out the best right now. (Both the blog posts were great; should've mentioned that when I was criticizing the comic before last.)

Did Lyle ever do anything with his Calligraphy? It always felt kind of implied that maybe he took Bear's advice, and now he has all the booze money he could ever need.
