There really needs to be a Stargate mod, this idea of mounting 8 Jaffa staff-weapons on a HWP to create a gatling gun is ridiculous and wonderful

LolitaSama posted:I just started enemy within and theres a mission called operation final knife with a vip that coughs and doesnt trust my squad. Its absurd. Ive killed like 10 aliens and they keep spawning. Is this mission supposed to be not possible? Theres way too many enemies that keep spawning. That's the infamous Portent mission. It's noteable for being extremely difficult for the point in the game where you usually get it, and it's also the first of three missions in the Operation Progeny mission arc that comes with Enemy Within.

I dunno if it'd just be a thing where you like click the gate and you're tossed into a battle or if you'd actually have something you could do on different planets, that'd be a pretty huge total conversion mod. But yeah just having some stargate units would be great. My biggest thing (after wanting TFTD ) is just wanting more enemy variety. Its cool to have these named guys I recognize like snakemen and mutons, but its supposed to be an alien invasion. I want to feel like the first time I was playing DOS X-COM and I had to do autopsies on enemy aliens to figure out what the gently caress they were. (Also bring back proper autopsy dossiers, the xcom cutscenes weren't as good) I need some new stuff that is just totally out there. Hopefully the game has some surprises, (there's definitely some new aliens to Xcom2 that werne't in 1) but I don't think its going to be a ton of them. So hopefully mods add more and more and more after that. You could also add the Protoss or the Zerg, or for that matter Tyranids or Eldar or Necrons or things like that. Xenomorphs, Predators...

XCOM 3 should just keep assuming we lost in the previous game. Okay so we failed in XCOM 2 again. Now lets stage an insurrection as Muton-esque enforcers during an invasion of another planet and prevent another Earth from happening!

It's not bad once you realize the spawns are mostly static. There is a video somewhere of Beagle doing it and cheesing the two bad spawns. The hidden group of thinmen in the first alley you can nuke with a rocket from out of visual range, and the surprise guy that drops behind you once you reach that same alley on the way back you can cheese with an assault standing next to where it drops. Everything else is just one or two guys at a time, because you should only be moving in half/quarter turn moves so as to not trigger much at once.

The Ethereals whole thing is they want Psi powers and buff bodies and they keep experimenting on new races to try and perfect their mix. Sectoids had the same problem as the Eths - they could do Psi poo poo but their bodies sucked. In humans they finally found a race which could be Psi and pump iron, so it should not be a surprise they are blending in human genes to make them and the Sectoids buff.

Was XCOM one of those games that required you to play in the region you bought it in or simply activate it? I've been in the dark the past few months with XCom 2...and hell till I noticed the new thread I had no idea the release date was so soon...but it looks fantastic feature wise...so I want to buy it.

Julian Gollop pretty much stated he regretted aiming so drat high, without realizing just how long that poo poo would take to implement and that he wound up cutting them, to the point where the only notable ones were Cult of Sirius, Megapol and maybe 1 or 2 others. All the others were just there, like, whatever - so you could RP or something with attacking them, but had zero consequence whatsoever.

I thought US capitalism was supposed to be all like: "Competition gets us the best of the best." while in my socialist country there's only a few that just go wherever and whoever calls on them, cause the infrastructure was laid all across the country. But then again, our country is also tiny compared to the wide swathes of the US. You'd really need state-limited ISPs TBH. A few for a handful of states to compete between each other, as opposed to just a few big country ones which can pick and choose which parts of the country come into the modern civilized world, and which are stuck in the sub 1MB/s dark ages. One the final council mission (would you believe i got van doorn's mission last? It was magical. ) thinmen still managed to be dangerous enough to give me pause, and i was rocking full plasma + titan with gene mods sprinkled here and there and a fully powered MCH. Its incredible how they are just so sodding dangerous. Always flank crits from half the map aways. Always. E: Why dont we have a thinmen emote? 's not enough.
