So, tried my copy of HoI3 and eeeeeeeh F that. I'll be waiting for the fourth game for casuals and stick with Europa and CK meanwhile. What's the current estimates for the release? I've been reading between March and June?

Now see, I was one of those freaks who took perverse pleasure in organizing my OOBs and even in micromanaging individual divisions in HOI3 (I even used the BlackICE mod, yep, THAT bad). What killed it for me was that planes had to be babysat for most of their flight because if you got distracted and they got into trouble, they'd just fly into a cloud of flak and enemy fighters repeatedly until they died and that having any navy at all wasn't necessary so long as you remembered to build more cargo ships and escorts from time to time. Poor HOI3, it was so ambitious that it had something to hate for everyone.

For most countries sorting out your forces at the beginning of the game wasn't that bad - particularly the USA which has like no army or air force at the beginning of the game. But constantly having to keep command divisions within a certain range just got forgotten about after a while. The guys you could attach divisions directly to (to a max of 5?) were handy because you could keep parts of your army designed for certain things and the ability to select one units and see what everything attached to it was doing and where they were going meant you could more easily keep everyone in one spot. But anything above that? Eventually whatever bonuses they could provide was outweighed by just throwing more bodies at whatever you were fighting. For navies and planes, navies were handy to have in the Pacific theatre (as the AI likes to take their entire fleet along when island hopping) and for the Mediterranean and North Sea areas as they have a high concentration of ships no matter who you're playing as, but for the most part the southern Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and Indian Ocean were virtually devoid of ships except for the occasional Allied task force consisting of like 2 destroyers and a TP they enjoyed shipping around in circles for no reason. Aircraft I never really figured out and just noticed that no matter what I would always lose (having superior numbers, better tech, properly organizing wings, nothing seemed to help) and sending strategic bombers in by daylight was suicidal so just send them on night missions until their ORG reached 0. I enjoyed playing HOI3 and it got better with the expansions but there were some quirks they could never really work out, and I'm saying that as a guy who only ever automated trade, everything else I did myself. IMO, the thing that really did it in was the supply system no one could ever sort out. It was so drat bad they even included the option to turn it off (that no one ever used because we aren't filthy casuals). That and seemingly having no influence over domestic policies in your own countries until events were properly introduced that let you make decisions. HOI4 is shaping up to be much better polished and a more rounded experience. There's some things I'm unsure of, yeah, but I gotta say I have an overwhelmingly positive impression of what we've seen so far.

Now do the same for HoI4 except with Hitler and Poland, possibly Bunker Cam included. And broadcast it on TV4 etc Hitler and Stalin singing, of course. Pimpmust fucked around with this message at 20:30 on Jan 31, 2016 |

Already been a big thing about that we can't have tractor beams or anti-gravity, don't remember exactly what, in the game because it can not be justified by the current known view of the scientific field of gravity etc. blah blah I don't really care I just want cool space battles really.

I will not play Stellaris until Paradox removes female generals from insectoid races. This is very ahistorical and unrealistic since everyone, especially a expert such as myself, knows that insect warrior caste consists entirely of male members. Ugh. Also if you know anything about bolete physiology you'll see how thoroughly unrealistic it is that mushroom-people females can be

Remove all the black people tia".
