If you have to make a comparison, use the Wallflower / Perfect Girl Evolution manga, which dragged on and on and on. I think it finally ended this year, whereas the anime finished airing almost 9 years ago.

I just finished the 2 anime seasons and caught up with the manga in about a week because I'm a masoc- because I have poo poo taste and like romcoms. As drawn out and predictable as this manga is (lol inevitable chitoge end), the characters and reaction faces keep me reading. sadotter.jpg A couple random thoughts: 1. Despite my love for Onodera, I have to admit she's painfully 1 dimensional. She really needs a 180 personality flip (or even 90 degrees if 180 is full yandere) after learning about Chitoge's feelings or something. 2. Raku should just form a harem with minidera, onodera, and mamadera. The best of everything if you ask me.

Yeah, I've been re-skimming the series and agree that, without some sort of swerve, Onodera is arc'ed out as a character. She and Raku nearly had a mutual confession back in chapter 5 or some poo poo, and no amount of "well gee I'm still having fun and everything is fine right now so no need to rush things" reinforcement will account for the TWO YEARS they've been hedging around it since then. Recently I've been wondering where this series can lead without completely destroying somebody. Whether he deserves it or not, Raku is the object of great devotion for both Onodera and Chitoge (and Marika and Tsugumi and Minidera and and and), and either we go Full Harem (which I can't imagine Onodera would be okay with) or one of 'em is gonna be devastated. Seems kinda bleak for my funny blush porn.

Yeah, since her arc is kinda finished, I imagine the ending will have to be "I realized I love Chitoge and I loved the idea of Onodera" and then Onodera is sad.

I'm hoping that her popularity in Japan will at least persuade the author to let her go out with a bang, but I'm not getting my hopes up. She's too pigeon-holed into the long time crush that gets dumped on by the plot girl in the end.

I hope we get multiple endings, just like the Archie Marries Bettie, Archie Marries Veronica, Archie Marries Josie (of the Pussycats) series. Multiple endings! Then a bad ending. Then a Clue ending where everything fits neatly together and Shu was the killer. Than the ending of Ranma 1/2.

The way these things usually go is the other girl(s) will just say "I'm sad, but _____ is a great girl and I wish you two the best!" (even if it isn't remotely realistic given their personality and the situation). Because, ultimately, series like this are about jacking off the main character and you can't have one of the girls end up incredibly depressed/angry as a result of his actions. The other girls will simply be happy that he is happy, because they exist as nothing but stepping stones in his life.

Nah, think this seals it. Raku pretty much said he doesn't feel the same way with Onodera et al. Granted, I think we'll see some counterattack from Onodera in future chapters, but I doubt Komi will make it big enough to overturn the plot girl ending. After all, he hasn't given Onodera any development in the past 199 chapters, why start now?

This is nothing. The characters would have to actually say something which they've proven they can't do for 199 chapters. There's a reason lovely VNs have sex as straight up plot devices: because there's nothing that will spur animanga characters to make a move on another character outside of legitimate plot consequences if they don't.

I guess I just hope for a satisfying ending for Onodera. She really doesn't deserve to be shat upon, since her only sin is being shy and indecisive. Also if Raku starts dating Chitoge without resolving the Onodera plot, Ruri will probably kill the entire cast with a tire iron.
