Reckon he might have the most punchable face in American politics. It takes a lot for me to root for Donald Trump over someone, but goddamn. I love this. Are they holding their guns barrel-up by arranging them into little pyramids? The physics of this makes no sense to me. I was wondering if they were digging them in. I know the army (at least in Britain) now won't let you lie a rifle flat for fear of dirt, so they tend to be rested barrel-up against trees and such. I guess that was a thing even back then.

I thought birds were already doing that without training and state sanction? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smv7cBzg-Ok And large birds are an even worse thing to have in controlled airspace than drones.

"Massacres" were uncommon. The history of warfare in Africa was thought to basically be two groups of warriors showing up at an arranged time/place, throwing some assegai (spears), and the side that lost its nerve first would take its people/property and move to some other locale. The reason we know about Shaka, King of the Zulus, is because he totally revolutionized warfare through the introduction of battle tactics, a shorter spear designed for stabbing, a training regimen for his impi (warriors), and other such changes to how his people went to war. That let him wipe out his rivals and take their women/cattle/etc. and grow his own tribe until it became the Zulu nation. But this was in the 1800s. They'd been doing low-intensity, not-terribly-bloody warfare for many thousands of years prior to that. Or so it was thought. They were making high quality iron swords and daggers and fortifying buildings in Zimbabwe and Uganda since before the European medieval period. Those are more suited to full warfare than hit and run skirmishes.

Based on the African understanding post-contact, the history of warfare in Europe was thought to basically be two groups of warriors showing up at an arranged time/place, shooting some muskets (guns), and the side that lost its nerve first would take its people/property and move to some other locale.

I was leaning toward Rand Paul until Rand started to give me the impression that he was a little soft. Largely, the reason why I’m a conservative is because I’ve been on public assistance my whole life, and I have always felt ashamed of it. I have two major health conditions — cerebral palsy and an injury to my left hemidiaphragm. The whole idea of welfare and entitlements is to create a permanent underclass. They’ll give you plenty of handouts, but they won’t give you any hand-ups.”
