The Phantom skill is absurd. It's basically memetic skin except you get it as a first skill for Ranger. A lot of my early encounters are just coward snipers raining death. The default difficulty might be super easy baby mode honestly, unless Advent Lancers and Vipers are supposed to miss flank shots all the time.

I found out how EXO Suits are balanced. Cost: 2 ADVENT Trooper corpses, 1 Elerium Core, 5 Alien Alloys, 5 Elerium Crystals. Time to make: Depends on if PG is staffed, but usually when unlocked 15 days.

To anyone else getting hit with additional downloading/unpacking time, it looks like unchecking the soundtrack and resistance warrior pack on the library screen lowers your ETA if you want to just save loading those for later.

Played fine for me at 1440p in both full screen and borderless this morning. Started up at correct resolution, didn't have to mess with anything. Try borderless if it isn't working properly in normal full screen?

OTOH one thing I'm hearing from the people who've played all the way through review copies (and beaglerush on twitter) is that the difficulty curve is much different than it was in 1. Not nearly so front loaded, like how Impossible used to be all about getting through the first 2 months and then just riding the power curve to victory. So if you pick Commander difficulty and it feels too easy at first, there may be some spikes further on into the game.

FWIW i turned AA down to FXAA and it's around 60 fps now from like 30-40, cutscenes seem to be locked at 30fps (why) edit: it's still pretty inconsistent and poo poo tho, stuttering all over

(In this case, Angry Joe being a fool and playing it to the wire, and overwatching one soldier instead of disarming the bomb). I'm going to make this a loose but strong rule: never ever play things to the wire. Disarming the bomb at the last second is for movie stars.

FPS is pretty shakey, but I have it around 30FPS on low-medium settings at 1080p. I have a 960m too, which is around the equivalent of a 750ti. So yeah this game is murder on GPUs. I wouldn't want to be playing on anything less than what I have. Excited to play it on my 970 on my desktop though!

Did the Steam servers poo poo themselves or something? I had preloaded it yesterday and now when I sit down to try this it seems to be stuck eternally at 100% not downloading a goddamn (it was 98% and not doing anything before I disabled the preorder DLC stuff). e: Supposedly it's unpacking. Is there any way to have any indication of how long that can take? I guess unpacking some 35 GB might take a while though.
