Is it just me, or are there more ramps, skylights, pipes, ladders and balconies in XCOM 2?
It adds a vertical element not seen before.

Combat Protocol doesn't seem to actually deal additional damage to MECs.

I ended up giving up on my long war playthrough yesterday, I was regularly running into missions where there would be 4-5 pods with at least two of them being 4-6 muton elites at 30+ health and I just got bored with it.

Also mecs are tremendously lovely in long war to the point of not being worth using.

The Reaper skill is going to be great with a Grenadier in the wings.
Launch a grenade into a group of enemies, activate Reaper and slash/shoot everyone dead.
Reapers gonna reap

Does anyone know what Beagle did to make all soldiers random at start and increase his default squad size? I'm curious if this mod tool requiring or .ini edited or what

So how long do Dark Events last? Are they permanent effects? Or are they just temporary penalties for you/bonuses for ADVENT?

Works fine for me. Though for some reason it does two instances of 2 damage instead of doing 4 damage once.

So I remember before release people were saying you could build snipers to pretty much exclusively use their pistols and actually have it be useful. Is that still the case or was it just a dumb rumor?

Ugh, this mission is bullshit. Not because I can't handle the enemies, but because there is no way for me to get to the access point in time. 8 turns is way too little with how big the maps can get, especially when things spawn on the top floor of a building.

How did Armless Bradford become a thing? A bug in the character pool code that lets you remove a character's arms or something?

Specialists can hack some objectives remotely if they're within visual range.

That's nice and all, but there's still 2 turrets, 2 shock lancers, and 2 sectoids standing close by that I have to get rid of first (First time I tried to rush it, the specialist just got panicked by the sectoids).
This is like the 4th or 5th missions btw, I'm not really far into the game.

The only reason I'm not unlocking this with a VPN is so I don't stay up all night playing it and then fall asleep at my desk at work tomorrow. I should've had the foresight the dude I share an office with did when he put in a vacation day to stay home tomorrow and play XCOM all day. He's a wise man.

I think that stuff shows up in the bottom-left corner now and you can mouseover the icons to see what they're doing.

Anyone gonna be going with a theme for your squad?
I'm gonna be rolling with the Zodiac Squadron!
Leo: Assault-Ranger, loyal, brave, and fearless.
Gemini: Scout-Ranger, quiet, polite, and so fast you think he's in two places at once.
Taurus: Hybrid Ranger, quick to anger, hot-blooded, but passionate.
Virgo: Medic-Specialist, kind, beautiful, but don't screw with her friends.
Aries: Hacker-Specialist, smart, thoughtful, and very sarcastic.
Libra: Hybrid Specialist, well-rounded and kind.
Aquarius: Sniper-Sharpshooter, cold, calculating, but don't question her skills.
Pieces: Gunslinger-Sharpshooter, sweet, innocent, but has a prankster side.
Cancer: Gunner-Grenadier, strong, quiet, and humble.
Sagittarius: Demo-Grenadier, likes explosions and new grenades.
Scorpio: Psi-Op, rough-and-tumble, loud, but has a smart side.
Capricorn: Psi-Op, a little strange, but nice when you get to know him.

beagle was trying to give bradford the sweater from the resistance pack and somehow broke it causing bradford to lose his arms so permanently it persisted through a save reload
