I just started watching the debate, but Christie did a good job tearing into Rubio. I had to check my DVR several times to make sure I didn't accidently hit rewind because I swear I heard Rubio say the same thing several times. I think he will really lose some traction if the magnifying glass gets a little closer on him because he really wobbles when he goes off-script. Don't get me wrong, it's a good script but when he has to veer off, it really shows. If republicans were bitching out Obama for using a teleprompter (even though they all do) they will rip Rubio apart.

It's on his weakest point, too, which is being ready and experienced enough, especially since the Republican base is still defensive over Obama being a first-term Senator. It's enough to cast his other answers the rest of the night in a bad light, making him sound scripted and flustered. The idea that Rubio's going to ride his Iowa momentum to a 2nd place finish in New Hampshire then become the establishment pick has definitely taken a big hit. Trump did a good job of being controlled, his answers at these debates have definitely gotten better and even if Jeb got under his skin for once I think attacking the crowd as establishment shills might actually work for him with his fanbase. I think tonight solidified Trump's odds in New Hampshire and extended the chaos between Kasich, Rubio, Jeb and Christie. That's my hot take, thanks for reading.
