Billy's rescued England from a handful of gently caress-ups now. He's looked good, powerful, agile and threatening. Will be bad if his ankle is dead.

I'm just not seeing anywhere that Scotland can score some points from, nothing is working well at all.

He hooked that bigtime. Not a day for kickers.

They've made some great breaks to be fair, but England aren't doing the same rush defense they did previously so Scotland shouldn't be shipping it wide at every opportunity. Incidentally, I think Scotland haven't scored a try at Murrayfield in this fixture since 2004.

Scotland ended the first half with some excellent breaks and if they could ship the ball quicker at the breakdown they looked to be in good attacking position. That's disappeared and they're trying to build off wild breaks at the moment. If they steady the ship they're going to be threatening again.

He's not fast enough to chase it, and he doesn't trust his back line to be ready for the chase.

It was stupid but to be fair you'll see that in every single game this season. I think this ref just likes calling some rare ones. Entering from the side 3 times now?

Even that's been bad, they've not held on to the loose ball they've forced. They should be taking advantage of it, instead they're doing the work and making it scrappy but loving about and then giving the ball away

When you're closer to a yellow card than Dylan Hartley you need to take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Still, happy with the result. We will need to do better and improve our discipline and ball retention for next week.

Scotland seem to have no idea how to construct tries, and they're overly reliant on burgling them. There's also a lot of work yet for Cotter when it comes to decision-making. Finn Russell booting the ball away, wasting a 2-on-1 and an open try-line is pretty much this issue beautifully illustrated.

This surely has to make Cotter look at Hidalgo-Clyne as the starting 9. If Hidalgo-Clyne was on the field I imagine Scotland would have scored a try at the end of the first half. Finn is usually a very good player but Laidlaw is so slow the England defence just set up to kill him any time he looked like he was going to get the ball, stopping the usually good Scottish backs from being able to get any decent ball at pace. England defence was given an easy ride and despite being the usual tedious grinding misery fest we never upped the pace to make their forwards work for it. Can't see Wales or Ireland being scared of any team that played today.

I like Laidlaw but he was ponderous as gently caress today, the Scottish forwards were made to look worse than they were today by the level of service from 9. Must be really frustrating for Scottish fans seeing their team struggle so much going forward when there were genuine bright spots (mostly the forward play) against an England team that had a week of coaching.

It perhaps has something to do with Laidlaw not trusting his backs to be there? Maybe he doesn't trust himself. Either way it's time to give Hyldago-Clyne a go.

ITV sure have pulled out the big guns, to make sure their Six Nations commentary team are experienced and impartial! : Shane Williams Goradan D'Arcy Nick Mullins Mullins is the guy who knows nothing about rugby, and got pulled from World Cup games, after he unironically told viewers that the island of Fiji only had one television, and no electricity.
