Sorry to get your hopes up, seems they are out of Countach's right now. :(

I actually think I will, and by will I mean throw in a paltry bid in case nobody else does. I'll see if I can arrange a quick viewing and make sure there isn't something screamingly obviously wrong with it and throw in a bid not much over starting price and see how it falls out.

This is the best thing, from my point of view, you could do. Give the auction system at GC-surplus a try using a basic but well-thought-out plan, and see what happens.

It wasn't Lambo's I was thinking of, it was the memory of that time Transport Canada put up their test-bed Tesla Roadster. The preview photos were mostly the usual various-shots-of-vehicle, but the front-page image was a splash photoshop poster with an exploding-blue background and liberal use of comic sans. Apparently, GC-surplus is how Transport Canada unloads their test examples of new cars, after they're done satisfying themselves that the car meets safety and other requirements.

I like to idly browse GC-surplus every so often, and look at things like coast-patrol boats and light aircraft various branches of the government are unloading.

They currently have 3 big water bombers in winnipeg, but the minimum bid is 2 million dollars.

I took a look at it and just threw a bid at it, it's the most I could see myself buying it for. If I get it great, if not like you said it's a learning experience.

Not Alberta, but saw this trolling the government auctions.

If someone was in the market for a new 4 bolt GM 350, it could be a good deal and worth the trip to pick up.
Seem to go for $1800-$2000 US$.

After about 15 phone calls this morning, i found a hydraulic shop that had them in their shop supplies and they hooked me up. Thanks though.

Even places like greggs didn't even have them in their system, couldn't get them in. Even the international dealer couldn't, and they made all the parts that need them.

edit: and the the plastic piece of poo poo housing shatters on reassembly :negative:

Now i have to choose between $30 and a week+ from rockauto or $140 from the local dealer

it's the fuel bowl drain on the powerstroke. it's just a little plastic valve, but now the truck is taking up the whole garage for however long it takes rockauto to get a new one here. I might crawl under there and see what i can do about lowering the rear while it's stuck in there.

Just think if the dollar were stronger. It would probably be in the .40s range which is something I don't think we've had since the 80s.

I remember in the late 90s, people first started to take notice of gas prices rising because gas climbed all the way to 46 cents. the it hit 70 and people really started bitching about how it's so unbearable.

Often still in the 40s even in the early 90s. Although, adjusted for inflation we're actually cheaper now.

I drove a Geo Tracker in the mid-90's. I miss that gas tank. I think it was 35 or 40 litres. When I first got it, $20 was a full tank from coasting in on fumes. I miss those days :P

I'm negotiating for a sequential twin turbo dorito powered Jaaaaag XJS - SSS can have the '8. Plus I've already rebuilt one scorched RX-7, I would rather not deal with another salvage inspection. SSS - if the suspension on that '8 is salvageable I'll take it though.

NP at all stud pleasure was all mine. Me and the 2 Jeffs ended up closing the bar down last night. Day was a little long because of it. Didn't help that the seminar was an absolutely inexcusable trainwreck so that didn't exactly help the day pass either.

Good seeing 1500q too.

E: Also, for those that care that F150 from the government auction site ended up going for something like $1300, so my $525 bid for a cheap basic truck didn't happen. Mrs. Slidebite was a little relieved I think.

What the gently caress does the TEDx talk in Grande Prairie consist of, a lecture on new scientific developments about avoiding getting your sister pregnant?

F1DriverQuidenBerg

Speaking of Grande Prairie I have a broker sending me about 12 emails a day now and phoning me up every hour because his client found out he was charging 15% commission and rightfully is going to another broker (which he implied he was going to gently caress up physically), normally they'd phone his account manager but the one responsible for GP is AWOL and I suspect currently is in rehab.

I suspect that is pretty close to the Grande Prairie slidebite described.

LoL actually there was addiction, death, a cultural tolerance one, some lady that gave a presentation on paying attention to your intuition, and a really good talk about things to learn from autistic kids from the viewpoint of a school principal who I had dated a couple years ago and had no idea she would be there.
