He stops being racist at this point, but considering they still joke about Tidus being hungry 40 hours ago, the train will keep on rolling.

This is just when he starts cooling down. It fully stops when the 3rd Maester dude tries to have them all executed and Wakka just says fuckit and gives up. E: Which reminds me, they're about to fight that one boss that roadblocks a ton of people on the airship.

Can someone explain to me the appeal of fighting games and how they aren't just advanced rock-paper-scissors simulators? The only ones I've come to like are Tekken because Hwoarang and Smash Bros because you get to kick Bowser in the face with like Diddy Kong.

I'm really curious how you came to the conclusion that they're rock-paper-scissors-based. I mean there's characters who are stronger or weaker than others, but if that's your only criteria for that generalization, that covers a much wider swathe than just fighting games

It's like rock-paper-scissors in that way where rock, paper and scissors are all different playstyle situations and read/reflex ability put against each other, like how rock v scissors is a 10/0 matchup in favor of ro- you know what it's not really much like rock-paper-scissors.

You can distill any game down to its core elements and it sounds stupid.

I am seeing a lot of making fun of the guy's phrasing and not a lot of talk about how fighting games are appealing so I'm going to assume they're not and you're all trapped in hell

I haven't played that many but it just seems like attack a will cancel out/defat attack b everytime but it loses to attack c, except there are 40 different attacks so there are more options than RPS. The difference I see between fighting games and say Starcraft is that SC has strategy and long-term goals but fighting games are split-second choices which I can see appeals to some, it's just if you make the wrong choice you lose everytime. I mean they have fighting sticks with fake buttons and those weird "walls" between players at tournaments so your opponent can't predict what move you'll use based on your presses, which seems to me that they can't make a choice on what moves to make based on the information on the screen.
