Dunno if it's been posted, but there's a Russian voice pack from the game files up in the workshop now.

Taffer posted:I'm turtling super hard at the endgame so that I can bring 6 psi troops to the final mission. Is this a bad idea Ehhh... It'll take super long, and I don't think six psi troopers have that much more benefit than three, as long as you use your Dominates well. But psis are crazy good, and the last mission really favors regenerating specials over one use. So, it's not all bad.

I would heavily and strongly recommend one Rapid Fire or any unit that can deal 20+ damage at once, because the last part of the final mission will drive you crazy otherwise.

I wish I could pay someone to insert the voice clips in the mod tools because when I tried to do it, my eyes just glazed over and deleted it once I saw all the instructions just to get it running.

That's actually pretty decent sounding on its own. Maybe it's jarring in game or something. I'll give it a shot. So far I'm sticking with only Workshop mods.

Okay, that was a first. A civilian I was not in rescue range of shifted into a faceless, then immediately walked over and slapped my grenadier for a lot of damage. I didn't think they could shift unless all other aliens were dead OR you move into rescue range?

Does this voice pack include him screaming GRENADA whenever he throws a grenade? Wouldn't be STALKER without that. khy posted:Okay, that was a first. Nope, if you get within in a certain range of faceless civs they always activate. Otherwise they wouldn't be much of a threat. If you ever end a turn near a civ you haven't scanned, ask yourself how bad it would be if they turned out to be a faceless. Remember that while their attacks might not hurt that much, they do destroy cover including the car you may be hiding behind.

Just got a bug where a Viper dragged a soldier through fire... and when I shot them, they not only wouldn't let go of their constricted target, but they refused to return control to my squad.

what the gently caress. Midgame, fighting a bunch of normal enemies. See an Advent Officer. He marks my Sniper. Whatever. He then on the same turn marks my Specialist. Uh, ok. He then proceeds to mark everyone else on my team, without stopping. Then he fires on my Sniper. Kills her. Okkkkkk. Keeps getting turns until he kills my entire team. He just keeps repositioning himself as if the turn "ended" and then got another turn. Did I encounter a new type of Advent Officer, or is this game buggier then I thought. e: Like he'd move into a dash move, and settle in as if his turn was finished, and then it'd take control away from him, but then cycle back to him rather then moving to the next alien/me. Like the thing that gets the AI to change who it's using broke entirely and just gave up, so it kept giving him more and more turns. Finally beat the game. The only thing I was disappointed in was where the gently caress was Valen? I was 100% convinced she would be there in the end, doing experiments and interrogations for the aliens. At least we know what the DLC will cover I guess. Also, gently caress the last level. Forever.

Does identifying a faceless via scanner force them to reveal themselves or do you still have to trigger them? Can they attack on your turn if you trigger them by trying to rescue?

Ciaphas posted:Does identifying a faceless via scanner force them to reveal themselves or do you still have to trigger them? Can they attack on your turn if you trigger them by trying to rescue? Triggering them with a battle scanner will cause them to reveal and advance on you as if you activated them normally. If you trigger them on your turn they don't get a move, but as soon as its the alien turn they are free to do whatever they want.

Yeah afaik they're activated by standing in their rescue zone or scanners, or having a soldier in attack range during their turn.

So assuming there's no battle scanners available and you're not in a crunch for civilians yet, I guess you overwatch all the time if you're anywhere near civs, yeah?

I just beat the game late last night of Commander. Couple questions last mission: the first part of the network stage, did anyone just go with 3 rangers with wraith armor? Basically I went with 1 ranger 2 heavies and I probably would have died if not for my ranger ghosting to the terminal. Also on the last mission I ended up proxy mining the gateways and at just the right time the warp-in with an avatar came in and just annihilated an entire section including draining the hero down to 1 life. It definitely saved me as I was getting low on grenades (brought 3 grenadiers) and two of my guys were getting way too low on life. Definitely going to dominate the gatekeepers next run through. Overall I felt the game was pretty good. I think it kinda suffers from the same thing the original EU/EW had which was the beginning was way too difficult and the end ended up being way too easy. Getting the higher-level grenades pretty much is a guaranteed death for almost everything that is organic (~3-5 damage from incendiary grenade burns after dealing 9+ damage is insane). I barely even used mimic beacons though. Easiest example is that faceless were immensely difficult to deal with using normal bullet weapons. Once you get to the late game one of your soldiers can easily deal with a faceless, especially since they never head for cover. Also part of the problem with early game. If you lose one person in your 4 person squad you are probably screwed for that mission. Your team can barely deal with pods at that point so losing one of them really screws you over.

Oh hey so I found out that you dont need to rescue 6 civilians. You can just avenge them by killing all the aliens. Not a great mission success but not an outright failure.

Beat the game. Killed the last special enemy in the final mission with a 1 damage improved stock miss from my medic specialist personal character Dominate is the tits. Having aliens tank for you is just too good. Rarely used mimic beacons. I only built 1. Now its time to mod. Have some fan art

Well, I hope to find a way to do it properly, but for now, I've improvised by just upping my starting supplies by 100 and adding 4 extra rookies to the recruitable pool. If there isn't a way to increase the actual starting roster of rookies already in your barracks, I will be both upset, and CONFUSED.

Currently my A-team is 6 dudes in WAR suits, with 3 of those being grenadiers. Each map looks like a nuke hit it by the time I'm finished. I've got a reaper ranger and a gunslinger in there as well, and they do a fantastic job of cleaning up all of the nearly-dead aliens that have been bombarded by explosives. It's pretty cool.
