 This is Peridot. I adopted her a couple of months ago. She spent the first week I had her in my bathroom hissing at anyone who came near her and trying desperately to escape, and it's been a long slow process of letting her get used to the place and gaining her trust from there. Anyway, the last couple of weeks have been especially good, we've been playing laser pointer and I've been feeding her right next me, underneath the desk I sit at to work. Normally she lives on the windowsill in that photo, behind the curtains where it's nice and safe, but tonight she's decided to come out and hang out with me on the chair there  Here's hoping that a few weeks from now I can get close enough to her to get a decent photo without her bolting.

His meow is back to around 95% strength and he's eating up all his food again. We're getting his teeth cleaned on Wednesday and while they have him under they'll take a look in his throat for any oddities. But I'm guessing this will just be a silly unsolved mystery at this point.

It's a bad week, we have one guinea-pig with a massive tumour under his chin (well, neck) that may be operable but they'll only find out if they operate, and another guinea-pig who's probably going to have to be put down this week as he's quite literally on his last legs. I'd like to request insanely happy guinea-pigs being...well..guinea-piggy, if you please? Tired guinea-pig who also needs cheering up:  vvv thank you to the two wonderful posters - the baby guinea-pig was totally :3 and the pictures were lovely, I especially liked the black and white one (the vids were adorbs too, your pigs are smarter than my dog!) When we adopted our cat, he had a massive respiratory infection from living in the kennel, and consequently he's gotten a cold that sounds just like this every winter since. Do not fret friend, it's the cat equivalent of coughing with a sore throat, and they survive it fine, although it sounds super sad and pathetic. And, if they happen to get the symptoms of clogged nose, get ready for disgusting mucousy cat sneezes that coat your windows and floor in nose goo. EDIT: That hacking noise in the second video is what cats sound like when they cough, btw. Kitty coughs. Keff keff. StrangersInTheNight has a new favorite as of 16:52 on Feb 15, 2016 |

My Henry Cat has allergies and he gets the kitty kough and the creaky meow, too. And after a few days, and some kitty allergy meds if he needs it, he's A OK. The funny/sad/cute in a terrible way part is whatever makes my allergies flare up make his flare up too. So we're stuffy together.
