I played until I hit defender +1 win, because I hit defender on a loss (and a complete rout, no less) and I hate it when I fill meters on losses.  I was honestly kind of worried about how I'd do, because I've had some bad nights the past couple of days and two of the maps in the rotation are ones that have been giving me a lot of trouble lately, Ancho-V and Triggerfish. As it was, two of my three losses tonight were on Ancho-V, against teams we just couldn't get a handle on. The "complete rout" was on Blackbelly. We were on the back foot all match long, though we almost turned it around when I facetanked and took out three of the other team.  That was pretty cool, but we couldn't capitalize and we ended up getting pushed all the way back to our spawn. That was fun.But I won a lot more than I lost, and a lot of those wins were solid, with a few absolute stompings. Teams seem pretty even skill wise, probably more than they've ever been. I'm currently running the N-ZAP 89, and I'm loving it. I've found that sprinklers can be good distraction devices, and I'm wearing some special charge up stuff so I'm getting inkstrikes every ten seconds.

Decide to use the roller for the first time months. Even with what ever the update was suppose to do it, still a reliable weapon. Caught a bunch of squids off guard and just run them over when their back was turned or swam up next to them and slammed a roller in their face. Also people are to busy trying to shot me or use their special to notice that I threw a suction bomb behind them. Played Ancho-V Games fro the first time today. I like what they did with the fans. Also has a match where during the last 5 sec, two squids were about try go paint the middle of Ancho-V Games only to be blocked by me painting the fan blocking them with a huge wall.

If that happened all the time it could totally warp my sense of my own skill and ranking up would be way easier.

loving hell, I just had a match that was pretty back and forth for a while but my team was gaining more turf near the end and it seemed like we were going to take the match. And literally in the last five seconds of countdown the connection issues banner starts flashing.  Match ends, but I'm booted out before the results screen comes up

My girlfriend had a pretty great idea for Spla2n: set it in the past, during the Great Turf War. Boom, a good reason for playable Octolings. Also this might be the most evenly-matched Splatfest I've seen. Fun levels, too.

It kind of depends on whether you manage to stick with good players and work up a winning streak. I had a really good team of the same three guys from Fangirl to Defender until we were tragically separated by a connection error, and after that it was a struggle to get those points up with different teammates every battle.

By far my fastest time to queen though, usually takes me more like 5. Only two losses that whole time. From my perspective red is loving terrible. But who knows.

Just got my first ever win with the opposing team finishing with single digit percent coverage. They were a full team, too. And of course, lost connection while searching for another match.

That's the main thing I've taken away from this Splatfest; if you have a good team, stick around. Even if you lose a match, if you've won the last four or so, stick around. You won't keep your opponents, but you will keep your teammates. Of course, that relies on the connection holding out. I was abnormally lucky and didn't get any disconnects once I had a solid team, and I was able to keep them for over an hour. It was surreal.

Well I'm not even going to bother getting past Fanboy this time. I'm one point away, but of the last 5 games I've played, one of them didn't end with a disconnect, so I'm done. I've still got about 50 snails from previous splatfests, and don't care much about this theme. Still, I wanted to play in splatfest. It's a good time to try out new weapons and just gently caress around.

The last hour or so was me kicking team red's rear end. I managed to hook up with a good team, and only left once half of them had went elsewhere and I had hit champion. Every match we fought together was a rout. It was magical.
