Only having a single crew means that crew will get pretty skilled, but other than premium tanks you have to re-train them for a fee if you want them to be able to use their skills to the fullest in other tanks.

With Premium Tanks as an exception, any crew not trained for a vehicle will be 75% effective for the same type of vehicle, and 50% for a different Type(Medium instead of Tank Destroyer, etc.). Keep tanks you like, make 75%-100% crews for new ones, and consider a T5 or T8 premium that helps you train them faster. Like if you have unlocked the KV-3 or IS, and/or you cant purchase yet, you can still purchase the crew and put them into a Heavy Premium like the Churchill III or IS-6 and get them to 100% or towards their 1st skill and make money at the same time. Lower tier tanks(4 and under) you generally dont spend the gold for a 100% crew unless its something fun like the Luchs or you are wasteful with Obama Tax Refund dollars.

the m3 is the low point of american mediums, but if you're good or lucky, sometimes you can get into a firing position where you can rattle off shots in relative safety against tanks you can penetrate reliably and then magic happens. it has a really absurd dpm with the top gun, so you can be a legitimate threat to higher tier tanks if they ignore you, and any same/lower tier tank trying to trade shots with you is gonna regret it.

Been playing artillery in Assault mode: These players are really, reallly bad! Gonna need to record the shot on the enemy Type 61 - dude got lit, I reloaded and aimed fully on it, it backed up behind a rock, pulled forward, backed up, pulled forward, backed up, and then drove up on top of a small hill where I was waiting. No the Panther is just underwhelming and the Panther 2 is really, really bad, such that I only made it through by doing doubles in Strongholds, and the E-50 requires a LOT of free XP, but is super fantastic. The T-34 is great (and in fact I only disliked the T-44 and enjoyed the T-43 more than it from that line). The M3 Lee is a bad tank, and is exceptionally bad for new players. I ground out the M7 Priest through the Lee after a bunch of people said it was actually good - no it isn't. It's awful. The gun has good DPM that is totally unapplicable because of the bad pen and bad accuracy and zero survivability (no armor no HP no camo poor profile poor mobility poor view range) so technically it's good at lobbing shells and hoping for the best? But that's the low point on the line and is a low tier so whatever. It isn't a huge terrible time sink like the tier 8 Czech tank.

To be fair though, it usually isn't an issue as most people don't go on selling sprees, and even with as many tanks as I have I hardly ever feel the need to sell a bunch at once. Also it probably prevents some unnecessary CS tickets from people who either sold all their tanks drunkenly or had a kid do the same. What server do you play on, and what's your in-game name?
