Cruz supporting Freepers are happy about this. Great news when you fire your comms guy a week before Super Tuesday.

More Things for the Thing God! From what I've seen on WADR and random cable appearances Rick Tyler seemed to be pretty good at his job. Overall most Cruz staffers have seemed pretty competent.

Cruz has to fire his communications director a week before super tuesday, and Trump didn't even have to reprimand anyone other than some faceless intern who probably didn't exist, when he retweeted that Iowans were brain damaged from genetically modified corn. Does anyone not named Ted Cruz still think Ted Cruz has a chance at winning this thing?

Honestly it looks like Cruz and Roe just weren't quite ready for the big time yet. You can get away with some of this poo poo in local and state politics, but when everything you do is scrutinized [and everyone already hates you ] this sort of poo poo can just fall flat and end up biting you in the rear end.

It's amazing because not only is it a hugely damaging story on Cruz, Rubio can't be unhappy about his "all the answers are there" moment getting way more attention than it normally would.

Even the most upscale shopping mall in America has disgusting bathrooms compared to an average casino. If you're ever walking on the Vegas strip or Atlantic City boardwalk and you have to piss, always go to a casino bathroom. The bathroom's at the Trump Taj-Mahal should be in Architecture's Digest. I guess it's because it's the only place on the casino floor you're away from the sights and sounds from gambling and the last thing they want is a poo poo stained bathroom stall to break the immersion. I assume if they were allowed to bring a catheter out to a blackjack table they would do that instead.

Joementum posted:This seems like a weird over-reaction from Cruz that makes a headline story out of something that was otherwise just a quirky thing covered on a few blogs and Twitter. I think Cruz was caught in a pretty ugly Catch-22 situation. Rubio and Trump had clearly found their angle of attack on Cruz: dirty trick-playing liar. If he doesn't fire Tyler, they can (and had been, and would continue to) point out that Cruz's campaign members - and not just staffers, but higher-up guys - were indeed actually acting pretty slimy without any actual fallout from the Cruz campaign. But in firing Tyler, he now highlights sliminess in his campaign as An Issue instead of letting it simmer on, as you say, a few blogs and Twitter. So I wonder what it was that made Cruz think the balances had tipped in such a way that made it favorable to pull the trigger like this. Also, to do it on a Monday, right when the media is salivating for a new story to run...
