There's nothing the likes of Erick Erickson deserve more than to be constantly under attack by the Trumpstaffel. Too bad he will probably never become self-aware enough to realize how much he contributed to this happening. https://twitter.com/EWErickson/status/702543234946486272

I think Rubio would be his pick. Rubio knows a little bit about how the system works, without being too much of an insider. Someone who has spent 20 years in Washington ruins Trumps shtick of being an outsider coming to fix things. Selecting Rubio should also calm all of the GOP establishment fears, while being an easy pick to justify to his fans. "He came in second, and because I'm all about doing what's right for the party it's only fair for Rubio's support to also be represented."

It'd be hard because Trump's whole thing is authoritative appeal but he doesn't know poo poo about running government I think if he picks a Washington insider it could hurt his standing with the Trumpstaffel. The same thing happened to Reagan in 1976 when he pre-announced that he was going to pick Richard Schweiker as his VP if he was nominated at the convention. Schweiker was a moderate Republican and Reagan picked him to win over Ford delegates (they weren't bound), but it caused some backlash among his most conservative delegates who saw it as a betrayal.

One of the funniest things about the Bernie Sanders thread is how they entirely base who should be the VP pick on the most obvious pandering to demographic groups. Obviously a bunch were throwing out women to be VP when one of the Berntards comes along and says "Read my lips: Slave Descendent". Someone who wanted Warren said "More like read my lips: Token Blackie". I guess it really is true that liberals are the real racists who can't see minorities as individuals rather than an undifferentiated mass!
