I was at Disney World last month, and we had supper one night at the biergarten in epcot. There's a german oktoberfest style show that plays every half hour or so, and they played one damned catchy song that's been kinda stuck in my head. The guy said 'time for some german rock', and started the song on his acoustic guitar, and the rest of the band came in on the chorus. Now i don't speak german, but what i could pick up from the song was at the end of every line in the verse, he said 'down down, down down', or at least that's what it sounded like in english. it's an up tempo catchy song, and i'd like a title for that one if anyone knows classic german rock music Floofy fucked around with this message at 05:36 on Feb 17, 2016 |

It's called "Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht" (what a quintessentially German title). "Marble, stone and iron breaks" is what he says and the literal translation; "but our love won't" is how it goes on. The bit that sounds like "down down" is just stuff, like "la la la." There must be a word for this. It's very 60s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_74YzFnQbzg My Lovely Horse fucked around with this message at 07:16 on Feb 17, 2016 |

Although I never knew that the title was "Truly, Madly, Deeply" so thanks for that at least. The one I heard had fairly prominent guitar, and sounded a little like (more recent) Third Eye Blind now that I think about it. But it's probably not a Third Eye Blind song.

Looking for an album I listen a lot too. I think it came out last year? It's was electronic and the artist did a sort of soundboard out of the songs on it. So you could remix it yourself. Driving me nuts. Can't remember the artist.

It did have kind of a 90's sound from how I've described it, but I feel it might be more recent, if only because if it were older I'd likely have recognized it.

After listening to a few songs, I would almost think the one I was looking for was "Tear in My Heart" by Twenty One Pilots. Except that I really don't remember the slower/quieter parts. Then again, it was fairly noisy and hard to hear in the place. Are there similar songs by them that it could be? I tried a few but the ones I heard had some reggae/rap-influenced bits, and I know that wasn't it.

At least twelve years ago or so I heard a song with the line "but I can ease your pain" (shouted very emotionally a few times, no other lyrics) or some such. It was when "screamo" or something was en vogue (I think, I don't know at all). Probably nothing very popular. Anybody know what it was? It's not important, it just crossed my mind.

There is a guitar line in the Santana song "I'll Be Waiting" that is very similar to a guitar line I've heard in a Satriani song, but I can't place which Satriani song it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FufYLgw5p1c&t=112s I'm very familiar with Satriani's first four main albums (Not of This Earth ~ Flying in a Blue Dream) so I'm about positive it isn't from one of them, but more likely from Time Machine or Joe Satriani. Edit: I just searched Youtube for Joe Satriani and listened to the songs that aren't on his first four albums and found it pretty quick - "If I Could Fly". Heard a song on the local college radio last month that had a female vocalist, heavy rock guitars but not metal per se, and using video game noises in the background that sound like they're from a Mario game, but I can't find it for the life of me on that stations site setlist. Anyone have an idea what it could be? Admittedly scant details, I know. I have a bet with a coworker and I get a free lunch if I can identify this song/music video: - Music video most likely broadcast on MTV between 1982-1987 - Artist is a male pop/rock singer recognized as a solo artist - Video was performed on a flatbed truck (similar to the Rolling Stones) driving through New York City - There were jugglers and strippers in the video - The artist was known to sometimes wear women's clothing

My coworker was the bass guitarist in it (just hired for the music video gig, not a regular player with the artist), but he won't give away what the video is. I guess I need to get more clues from him because I still haven't found anything.

There have been several notable ones -- Bjork's Big Time Sensuality, Dokken's It's Not Love, AC/DC's It's a Long Way to the Top, etc. But none of them fully match the description.

I'm trying to nail down a particular composition of Clair de Lune. I'm almost positive it's performed on some kind of synthesizer - there's an ethereal feel to the song because of it. The memory of the song reminds me of Vangelis but it's a bit "sharper".

I'm at Karaoke Apocalypse right now and I can't figure out this song being done. It might have really mumbling lyrics or it might just be this guy. The core of the song is this staccato four note line on guitar over 16ths on the hi hat likecode:

bit of a weird one this as i'm not sure if the song actually existed because it was like 3AM on the last night of a festival, but I have this memory of red dwarf star, robot wars presenter and for some reason dj craig charles playing a song that had the tune of killing in the name, only it was sort of like a funky version i guess? think it had a woman singing and the lyrics weren't the same as in the original
