Regen keeps her pilot ability meaningful potentially for the entire game, whereas Juke makes it offensive but means she loses it very quickly. Beer4TheBeerGod posted:Is Tycho w/ Rage, A-Wing Test Pilot, PtL, Prockets, and Autothruster not particularly worth it for 35 points? Obviously the Prockets would hit hard but I'm wondering how much damage he would do outside of that. SHould be able to more or less guarantee 3 hits against anyone he moves after, getting to R1 won't be a problem, but PS will be, and the Prockets probably cost too much sadly. 5 points is too high a price. Whilst I really like A wings with Prockets, I always struggle to build with them for that reason.

So, after getting a fancy Scum Boba alt-art card, I've been trying to think of some different lists to use him in - however I'm quite unfamiliar with Firesprays, aside from a fairly successful 'Vader+two bounty hunter' list I had going for a while. I was originally thinking of doing a Boba+Guri list similar to the one posted earlier in the thread (perhaps also a Boba+Kath list...), however I also want to see if I can get some 3+ ship lists going with him, like the one below:quote:Boba Fett (Scum) — Firespray-31 39 Not sure about how it'll actually turn out, though. If I do use it, once Adaptability comes out I'll swap VI on once BSA and replace the other with Graz. However I'm also thinking of maybe trying to get a mini-swarm of concussion Zs with chimps going instead of Kihraxz fighters, too - when chimps come out, at least. Unfortunately I'm more familiar with Rebel builds, so I'm not confident about either list, right now. Has anyone here had success with Scum Boba? Are there any main tips (both list-building and flying) that I should be following? If so, any info would be greatly appreciated - since although I own two Firesprays, I haven't really been able to use them much!

Why VI at all? It does very little on already low PS pilots, and Kihraxz come with Crack Shot...

I had thought VI wasn't so bad -for me at least- since the people I play with most seem to favour mid-skill pilots (particularly the skill six Defender and Decimator pilots, among others) which would give me the PS edge over them. You're right though of course, for more general-purpose use of the list

Hell, if I was a judge and I accidentally did that, I'd remove myself from the tournament, because you know...integrity. Yeah, it was pretty drat frustrating. It sucks too, I had an otherwise great day, all fun opponents, and a couple of really close games with two other people that did end up making the cut (one of whom was Brunas!). Put a sour note on the whole day when I found out. The list in question was: Oicunn w/ Palp and Vader, Predator Wampa Omega Leader w/ Stealth, Juke, Comms Apparently there was also a seismic charge in the list until after he'd played round 4, so it's not even like it was some mostly useless upgrade. I honestly don't think I've ever seen someone with a list over on points, because there's a dozen apps and websites to listbuild now, and you have to write everything down on the sheet. I'll say that this was actually a more negative play experience to fly against than TLTs, for me. The entire list 100% ignores anything related to green dice, and there's not really much you can do to counterplay it either. I lined up two shots on Wampa to kill him, Whisper and Jax with focus at range 2, blanked both rolls, didn't even force the Palpatine for defense. He killed Jax with Wampa and OL, and blew up Whisper with Oicunn in one shot thanks to Vader that same turn. Literally nothing to be done about it. At least against something like TLTs, I can get into donuts and have much better odds at dropping one before it shoots. I feel like I can play around it. This was "don't get into range 3 of any ships, or take damage with nothing you can do about it".

It's... not even a sensible list. Putting Vader and Palpatine on the same ship is superbly counterproductive.

Ten is certainly a tough nut for SOLV to crack, that's for sure - my ideal with that list would be to get S&V donutting dash at all costs, and get OL locked on Ten. Ten should be the first target; Dash on his own dies easy to the other two if they're left intact. I'm just hoping to avoid double regen lists next weekend, not because they're necessarily more difficult, just because theyare tough on my rather too aggressive style of play. I need to learn to be a little less aggro. Or play jouster lists. Bring on Mist Hunter I wanna know if it can do a bigass jouster list.

We had our local Store Championship. One of our guys who'd previously won a store championship earlier in the season jumped in to play just to give us an even number of players. His "joke" list: 4 Rookie pilots w/ R2 Astromech and integrated astromech 1 Bandit Squad z-95 He ended up going 3-1 in swiss and then made it into the top 4 cut, where he went on to beat a Fel/Jax/Royal guard pilot list and a Scum boba with 2 tlt Ywings list, and won the whole drat thing. Basically, generic T-65 X-Wings are OP, FFG, please nerf.

Yeah, we had a guy playing 4x basic t70s with integrated R2 units do fairly well in our latest winter kit tourney. If you know what you're doing with them, squads of 3 dice ships can be stronk. I'm kind of wondering about trying a 5k list, but that would involve... buying 5 Kihraxz.

5 Kihraxzes are pretty strong, it's a lot of health to chew through and they have enough dice to hurt. Whenever I've seen them flown well, they can really crush.

On the Dash/Ten list? How much does Dash come up with? If you have 12 points to spare you might as well get a Z blocker. At a push you can get Advanced Sensors for Ten but I dislike putting too much stuff on Ten because no matter what, he's gonna die, and he's expensive enough as is.

It sucks too, I had an otherwise great day, all fun opponents, and a couple of really close games with two other people that did end up making the cut (one of whom was Brunas!). Put a sour note on the whole day when I found out. That whole situation was a mess. I'm assuming the judge was lenient on himself because he's an outrageously chill guy that would have been that lenient on anyone, but as a judge I think it's your responsibility to "make an example" out of yourself, as silly as that sounds. I think the correct move is an immediate DQ, then switching to a legal list and playing at the lowest table if needed to prevent byes, at least if he wanted to keep playing. I don't know how to go about doing retroactive wins, or if that's even fair to everyone else. Let's say it gets found in the fourth game, someone is 2-1 because of the loss to the illegal list and wins their fourth game. Now they're 4-0 but were paired at 2-1 for one set of matchups, which doesn't seem fair either. Regardless, the leniency was a bad idea, since now people know that if they're caught with an illegal list worst case they have to make it legal and there's no penalty. On a more positive note, our round 2 game was really good. That one and the games against Justin later in the day were the best/most interesting ones I've played in ever, I think. Most games are decided by a couple of stupid mistakes from one side or the accumulation of minor errors, I think the only obvious mistakes in our game were Jax having the wrong move set early that didn't effect anything I remember correctly, and I totally forgot TIE/mk2 was a thing which also didn't really change too much. Won't bother everyone else with the details, but good game again! While I'm thinking about it, here were the matchups from yesterday: RAC/Whisper Whisper/OL/Jax Whisper/OL/Yorr OL/Zeta Leader/Wampa/OGP BBBBZ Whisper/OL/Yorr (same list, different person) OL/Zeta Leader/Wampa/OGP (same list, same person) For reference, I was 3x black crack, howlrunner with crack, and VI/EU Vader. The first game was against a super non-standard RAC/Whisper list against a new guy, but outside of that we had 5/6 games against Empire, 3/4 of those lists had whisper, 4/4 had OL. All were against people that I expected to see near the top 4/8 as well, so clearly guts has been spreading the good word about OL. Been looking through recent tournaments on listjuggler recently and seen mostly the same thing, lots of OL, therefore lots of Empire. Not sure if it's because he's new and shiny, but there's a real chance he's the oppressive monster I'm worried he is and we're stuck with him forever now. OL also enables whisper in a big way by letting you fit palps or a third budget-ish ace in there as well. And last unrelated message: that's the third tournament in a row where the gf has happened to decide the night before was baking night so I brought the extra cookies. Now that everyone trusts them, the obvious thing to do is spike them and take our default wins while everyone else is in the bathroom. It's brilliant!

Honestly WRT the illegal list it should never have got to that stage; the TO should be checking all the lists for legality, as should each player in each match. On another note, is there mileage in running a naked Patrol Leader with just Vader and Gunner? I've been semi-considering it as an option because I always seemed to sink way too many points into it when I was running it, but drat is it a potent range 3 circle of 'visit here and die, aces'. But just that is 48 points, and 52 is not a lot to equip... well, anything. You can fit OL/Juke/Comm/SD and ZL/Wired/Weapons Guidance which is solid, or swap the SD for a Fleet Officer in the third spot, but I just don't think it has adequate ace protection once the decimator dies, or adequate firepower to chunk through a Y wing. But I want to bring my Deci out again without needing to find a way to get Palpatine

Best list, or bestest list? Dengar -Rage -Unhinged -Title -Bossk Trandoshan Slaver -Boba Fett -Greedo -K4 Security Binarye Pirate Chump blocker, HP chunk/Boba delivery/3 dice machine, plus Roid Rage Dengar. Rage gives you rerolls on both shots in a turn, against a really dodgy rear end in a top hat like Fel or Whisper if you miss you get focus for the second shot or for defending. On the "cool off" turns you've got a solid set of moves, and can potentially pick up focus by shooting someone. The TL will stick around if you can't use it, which means you can choose not to Rage if you need to GTFO. Also considering R4-B11 instead, to further screw with super defensive ships. Okay, I mean this is janky and dumb as hell but I'm going to try it anyway. It's a good bit of HP, and if the enemy focuses on either big ship you can cause problems with the other. Has about 5 points of room as is for swapping things around or grabbing a couple more upgrades.

If you can get action equivalents from other upgrades, you can almost completely ignore stress because his dial is so good. If you're raging with him, R4 seems like a decent combo? So you can rage, then spend the focus for the TL next turn since you don't need it this turn. Here's what I've been wanting to try which is similar. R5-P8 optional, you could take it out to get R4 on a TLT or something, who cares. Haven't done any math on Zuckuss crew to see if it's actually any good though. I quite enjoyed flying Lando + 2xBSN, but it leaves the YT rather light on upgrades. Considering this as a second iteration: Lando Calrissian (44) Veteran Instincts (1) Tactician (2) Gunner (5) Engine Upgrade (4) Blue Squadron Pilot (22) Blue Squadron Pilot (22) Total: 100 This version can't pull off the fast, sweeping maneuvers that Nien Numb + T70s can, but this YT should be much more deadly and the B-Wings are still cheap 3-die ships with a repositioning action that Lando can trigger at PS9. It doesn't look as graceful to fly, but it ought to be more dangerous.
