okay so I've been having an incredibly sucky night(been dealing with a sort of choking issue since around 6, currently it's about 2:15 here), and I need as much cute stuff as possible to combat the existential dread that's been piling on due to this(seriously it's so uncomfortable in every way that part of me would welcome death just cause it'd mean I'd be done with this)

Out of curiousity, does it feel like you can't quite complete the whole "swallowing" process? Like something's keeping you from swallowing but there's no actual blockage? And then it randomly just sorta clears up (like all you had to do was "force" it down) and you're back to normal? If it's happened before or happens again, you might have the same thing I did: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schatzki_ring

Get an appointment with a gastro doc, it's apparently pretty common and easy to fix. They just knock you out and do an endoscope and basically inflate a balloon inside the narrowing to stretch it out.

A company called EnChroma has developed lenses that target and block specific, narrow bands of the visual wavelength. Originally developed to be worn by surgeons as protective eyewear during laser procedures, it was eventually discovered that these special blends of lenses could separate the wavelengths of light that people with certain types of color-blindness, and specifically the color receptors in their eyes, couldn't distinguish.

Well in the time between that post and now I went to the ER and had a very minor surgical procedure to get the blockage out(was out for maybe an hour tops), overall feeling a lot better now

e: Also, I know this isn't a picture, but I just remembered a cute story. I used to work at a pet supply place, so we had lots of weird stuff there, including replacement milk. Anyway, this guy comes in at about 8:30 at night, sweating and desperate looking and shouts, "I NEED DOG MILK AND NINE TINY COLLARS" to which we understandably reply: "???" He explained that his Great Dane had just had puppies and he'd been expecting three or four puppies and instead she had nine. :3:

I did something like that when I was very little: propped myself up with my favorite little book and recited the lines I knew belonged to each page (because I'd had my parents read it to me so many times.) My mom saw me and thought for a moment I'd managed to learn to read early, but no, I was just a memorizer.

On November 17, Mie Prefecture announced that it had appointed a Shiba Inu named Maru to be a sightseeing ambassador of Mie. Maru is an eight year old male born in Gifu Prefecture, who is currently living in Saitama Prefecture. The owner of Maru began posting pictures of Maru on social media in 2011. Maru soon became quite popular on his blog, Instagram and Twitter, not only in Japan, but also in foreign countries such as Hong Kong and Taiwan. He has even had a calendar and photobook published.
