As much as I did have a little giggle at Lexa being caught by a stray bullet and it making me think of Buffy for a hot second, at least she was actually in its way. Clarke was going for the door and Lexa opened it. Tara was standing on the second floor of a building kind of by a window and happened to get shot by the most random of bullets that never looked like it was even fired at an angle to hit her.

I will say it's one thing to accidentally be killed by a villain, but it's something else entirely to be accidentally killed by basically the one person besides your lover who would never wish harm on you. The fact that Titus's act of violence resulted in him destroying the very thing he wanted to protect is going to, at the very least, make Titus think long and hard about Lexa's nonviolent hopes for the future.ufarn posted:The Comic Con panel is going to be something else innit? I'd also like to point out about half their writers' room is also female. and I also have to assume everyone was in the room when they broke this (if not every) episode and revise revised it, etc. So this definitely did not just slip through.

It's more of an LGBTQ+ issue than a women's issue, but for obvious reasons one has to figure there's probably a few peeps under that umbrella in the writing staff so

the fact that they were all aware of the trope and discussed it and still thought they could get away with it is what really gets me. I can forgive ignorance but thinking you're special and that you can get away with burning a huge part of your fanbase and being surprised when there's a backlash...I just don't know what they thought was going to happen. I just hope they learn from it.

I never had that growing up besides Tara from Buffy who, surprise, died in the same exact way. lot's of people are in the same boat, I've seen lot's of young lesbian women absolutely devastated by this. you can pretend it doesn't mean anything and it's just a television show but for a lot of people it was very inspiring and important. I know it's cool to not care about things on SA, but try and have some empathy.

I'm done"? I told Supernatural to gently caress off forever when they gave my favorite character one of the worst, most anticlimactic and pointless death scenes I have ever seen. But that was really just the straw that made the camel realize that Supernatural would forever be the Sam and Dean manpain hour and that everyone in the world could and would be sacrificed to fuel that tired old plot engine.
