It's somewhat dependent on what you pick up, whether mag weapons or predator armor gets the research bonus from black market, etc. Also you can ignore a lot of the non essential autopsies because they eventually become instant so you don't have to waste time on them, but the faceless (mimic beacon) and muton are key.

The game is so much more fun on my second Legend run, this time without save scumming (only reloading for bugs/big misclicks). I'm pretty bad at the activation game, so I generally fight at least two pods at once. Rangers and mimics are essential and awesome!

I use them to open up cover, shred and weaken pods for others to finish off, rip up armor with their cannons, and debuff with special grenades. Between their low accuracy and reliance on grenades I don't really finish off a lot of enemies with them, so they always get left behind. I feel like they, even more than specialists, are the ones that need kill assist XP. Tin Tim posted:Saw another bug in it too

You could probably level up your whole squad once though. There's no limit to how much experience you can gain at once. However, a soldier can only be promoted one rank per mission. Grenades can also miss but this is likely because of a mod loving with them. I saw a grenade miss the other day. Jade downloaded a heavy gunner mod and the AWC threw Reaper Rounds on someone which decreases their accuracy by -15. Turns out it was a global thing so explosives had an 85% chance to hit on anyone stuck with that lovely perk. I dunno how it works but they were the only characters he had missing with them. I don't know how my guy missed with a grenade though.

A stun lancer double-move poked my gunslinger, critting for 14 and putting him into bleed-out. I stabilize him and finish the mission. I got a flawless rating for it. No one wounded, apparently. quote:Grenades can also miss but this is likely because of a mod loving with them. Just putting the percent marker on there would be nice; it nearly cost me my best unit because it seemed like a given it could at least break a wooden box. It missed that too.

I've never seen my own grenades miss, but I know enemy grenades can, as I've seen Fuse blow up cover but do no damage to enemies. Also playing Legendary for the first time with the infantry class is interesting, as I'm now running 1 of each class currently and the lack of grenades is alone a sufficient balance for Light Em Up.

I was looking at a mod earlier, that rather than put the variables in an .ini file or anything, they copied the original variables, and just modified them in code. So PlatedMediumHealth-3 instead of just making a new PlatedMediumHealth in their own .ini file. It also gives 101 armor chance because i'm not sure the guy knows how it works.

Maybe a bug once the soldier is taken off the board the first time, not tracking bleed out right?

So I started with this rookie, Alice Black, who was completely bald. I was like , but then she got promoted to Grenadier and I was like "Yup, I'm calling you Ripley from now on." NuSextoids are loving assholes. And XCOM2 is weirdly janky, while my rig ran the first game pretty well. Is the game just hella unoptimized or something? I have to sit at the skyranger scene while loading missions for like 3 minutes. And framerate is all over the place. I am weirdly more okay with the 'retcon' than I expected to be. I thought it would just be ignored, but they seem to be implying that all the fights we went through in the first game was just the Commander unwittingly running computer sims for the aliens this whole time, right? e: The 'once per mission loot drop' is so much better than weapon fragments, since once it happens I feel free to go all-out with explosives

The goonpool is just for self-inserts (with one or two easter eggs), but if you have a substantial number of other themed guys you can send them as a separate file and I'll chuck it in there next to it.
