A: Well the point of farming will be... ah, you know, the BIO DOMES will allow you to grow, ah, agriculture, you know, crops, ah, and you'll be able to... SELL those, probably for a premium so the idea will be, the Bio Domes in the Endeavour are sort of growing things that you couldn't normally necessarily grow on a planet, and you can maybe sell for a premium, whatever it would be, ah, I'm sure lotsa people will go "SPACE WEED!" but um, you know there'll be plenty of other things too, ahaha, um, so... you know it's, it's ah, it's a sort of farming mechanic, so you'd have that in, ah, you know you'd have that in space, you'd maintain it like perhaps you know, you have to take the... your ship would have to be a certain distance from the local system STAR or, you know you'd have to tend, fend for it make sure it's... ah, you know GROWN in, you know, like, perhaps the lower gravity setup makes you able to grow a better strain of... whatever it will be, WHEAT etc ah, so there you go

You know what really gets me? This is the ship that should have the giant spinny rings.

Look you're growing space wheat weed or whatever no matter how rare it is, you're not going to be making much money selling agricultural products. So who would want to pay for however gravity is generated in the SC universe? You just build a huge ring, which gives long, straight, easy to harvest fields of space kale or whatever at the cost of just keeping the ring or the ship spinning.

I'm pretty sure I've put more thought into this then CIG did at this point.

They have declared they want to carry projectile momentum through the physics grids, so they'll probably have to model soil penetration in detail. What if someone decides to heroically use those huge dishes to shield someone? You can't claim fidelity in that unless PU takes into account cow dung density.

From 10 for the Chairman: Episode 44 (2014.11.10)

Q: With 90% of the universe's inhabitants being AI, will what we do effect (sic) some of them follow our lead. For example, if a subsection of the community try to setup a blockade, will a subset of the NPCs join in help while others oppose?

A: Well definitely the actions of players in the world and the economy will affect AI, because essentially the AI are program... they have you know, I've given the example of, ah, um, you know, FACTORY needs ah, TEN TONS OF ORE, so basically creates a mission says, "I want someone to deliver TEN TONS OF ORE" someone takes the mission, whether it's an AI or a player to deliver TEN TONS OF ORE. They get attacked by PIRATES! Uhm, the shipment doesn't get through the factory, the factory doesn't have raw materials now it can't be making the goods that it needs to make, so it puts another mission out for another TEN TONS OF ORE but THIS TIME it also hires some MERCENARIES to escort the merchant ship bringing the TEN TONS OF ORE because PIRATES have attacked it.

Ah, so now all of a sudden it's hired either... either... other... other NPCs or other players, to be... part of the mission the second time around to make sure that the shipment of ore comes through. And so all the AI sort of have CAUSE and REACTION stuff that happens, ah, that is CAUSE and REACTION to something that a player does or something that an AI does so, a... player's action... will... have a CAUSE and EFFECT inside the ECONOMY which will, um, essentially have either AI or the players sort of react to those actions so ah, I would say that, eh, ah, if you're doing a blockade then em, for instance, the economic nodes on the planet that need the stuff, ah, would probably be hiring AI or other players to help break the blockade, and the players, uhm, PERFORMING the blockade could hire other AI or PLAYERS to help 'em, ahm, you know, keep the blockade, so, there you go.

"In our heads all your traveling and random encounters are belong to us"

Top Head Cultist #1 posted:

Random encounter are not as simple as in other games. It´s not just a "distress signal" where you just have A)pirates, B)pirates attacking traders or C) rescue. Random encounters can have lots of permutations depending on the economy, localization, solar system story and your own personal story. And to that we have to add all human type ships available in game, all the alien ones, space stations, anomalies, asteroids, wandering planetoids, satellites, drifting space hulks, secret bases, comets... So, the content in the game is going to be in these type of situations and they [CIG] are going to be doing everything possible to add even more.

But, as explained by Tony Zurovec in a few occasions, the key is not just that we have lots of permutations, but that there are "links" that take you from some events to others in a natural way in the universe fiction and that are based on your past actions and the economy. For example, if you rescue a merchant from some pirates maybe he is going to ask you that you take him to a certain place but in reality he is also another pirate being chased by fellow pirates. Or maybe a pirate transponder can lead you to their operations base in a system. Or maybe after you interrogate one of them he can tell you where they store their treasures in exchange for freedom. And so on...

I think the random encounters system with links to more content is going to be one of the most revolutionary things in Star Citizen, and precisely because the game does not have many scripted missions like your typical MMORPG they have tools and design to promote this kind of emergent gameplay. And let´s not forget that there are other players, even if it is just 10%, that can get involved in all these situations. Tons of variety.

Got to love the use of present tense permeating all their gushing posts.
