Ask yourself, do you really want to talk to pair of really nice gaudy shoes?

I know this is a loaded question but I'll go ahead in shoot in the dark. What's the typical On-Premise SQL Always-On w/ Disk Witness Configuration typically demand (Throughput/IOPS/CPU/Memory) and cost?

I've had a people few inquire about putting MS SQL into the Cloud and they're not interested Azure SQL just Azure Windows VMs with MS SQL Server. I'm able to configure a few bits and pieces, not aware of resource requirements but I'm getting a strong feeling pricing will turn everyone away.

There is no "typical" solution and cost.

The reason for this being that the database itself drives cost, and mileage varies per database. I might have a 1PB database or a 10gig database. I might have rows of 1k size or 1 meg blobs. I might have huge write patters or huge read patterns. I might have a single table of many columns or many small tables with lots of joins. I might have thousands of users or two.

For a back-of-napkin estimate for a medium-sized business, I might recommend $10k each for a pair of moderately powered database servers with local storage, maybe another $2k for a file server to use as a disk witness, and maybe $10k for software licenses. Round up and call it $40k. -ish.

You could always check out SQL Server on RDS on AWS. It's a fully managed SQL Server instance in the cloud. It has some limitations, but it takes out all the management of a SQL Server cluster while giving you the benefits of a database cluster that lives in multiple datacenters.

No it's not illegal, just a lovely thing to do. Job titles are literally meaningless. I could be Price of Circuitry or Deputy Bandwidth Sheriff if my job really wanted to call me that.

loving recruiters. He tried again to put me in the ISP support position, saying that they often recruit from within and good things can come from that.

-It pays less than unemployment before I've even counted in the drive to work including road tolls and lunch money. That's 4-500 per month, almost $3000 over 6 months. If I don't get a higher paid permanent position after those 6 months, what do I have to show for for the $3000 I paid?
-I have worked in higher levels for ISPs before, with the CV and references to back it up. If they have positions in higher levels open that they could recruit me to, they don't need me to do 6 months of slave labor first.
-If I take the job, I will be the guy they can point to and say "That idiot will take any job at all without any promises of future advancement, we don't need to focus on placing him in a good position. Look at how funny he looks, struggling and waving his arms and legs when we move him back to start again for the fourth time."
-I can be willing take the ISP job if the company is willing to put on paper a commitment to what happens to me after the 6 months are up. The company is not willing to do that.
-No, I will not divulge my salary. You know what the market pays. I know that the market is rough for my skills right now. That's why companies that actually want me are going to make me an offer if they want me to work for them, and we will talk about it and come to an agreement. I'm not going to lock myself out by going too high or hurt my career by going too low.

Also, gently caress you recruiter calling from London asking me to move from Norway to Sweden. I'm not going to move to work helpdesk for $35k with no relocation or severance in a country whose job market is like a Hunger Games movie!

You can pretty much put whatever job title you want on your resume, within reason. So if what you're doing at your job differs severely from what your job title actually is, just change it to reflect that. Now if you're doing helpdesk work and you put on there that you're a senior oracle DBA, well then it's probably not going to go over too well once the recruiter calls you.

My MSP job had me as a Solutions Analyst, though the other two guys that did my exact same job (but had been there longer) were "Solution Engineers". My boss said even without a degree if I got a certification higher than CompTIA I would be renamed to Engineer too. I got the CCNA, my boss didn't bother changing my title because we didn't really use them (though i still wanted recognition), and I put Solution Engineer on my resume when applying to new jobs.

It seemed to really help secure a higher salary.

Now my job has me as a "System and Network Specialist". You better believe that is changing to "Administrator" on my resume when I get my bachelors and am here for over a year, even if my employer won't recognize my position title as such.

Then they tried to leverage legal words at him like "entrapment" when he attempted to uncover their dirty work (by enabling auditing to see who was purposefully destroying systems).

According to this seller, that's a SATA disk, and you want a PCIe disk. Incidentally, those are more expensive than the SATA type, like this one. And if you do get the SM951, don't get the NVMe version.

Turns out that the seniors believe that i'm holding tier 1 afloat. By removing me from tier 1. They hope it will crash and burn, so that they can crack down on it. I'm having a hard time understanding this. They "promoted" you to tier 2, but can't move you up there yet, so you're a Tier 2 working in the same Tier 1 line you had before? And they didn't give you a raise? Because if so, they didn't promote you at all.

Also for reference in english (at least USA) income before deductions is Gross, after deductions is Net.
