So if "have with you" doesn't include in your hand, library, graveyard or in play, then what's left? Like if you have a pocket full of Cardboard Carapace cards that you're not playing with?

Look at the art - you have to wear them on your body. Having them in front of you (in play, graveyard, hand or library) won't protect you. Duh. Using a tradebinder full of them as trauma plating also works.

I think you guys are looking at it A) Backwards, and B) are a bit hung up on the D&D analogy despite the way colourpiephilosophy works being that each colour represents a set of ideals they uphold, but doesnt specify any of them as *right* where as its very implicit that Good characters are supposed to be, well, team right. Its why the debate between Lawful vs Chaotic is more interesting in rpgs, even if that whole system is still bad. The character casting terror isnt bad because they're casting terror, its just that the way of thinking that defines black makes someone likely to use the spell Terror. If you were a Holy Priest upholding justice and protecting the weak you'd cast Stasis Snare or Path to Exile. Banishing the Dragon, but not torturing it cos you're still concerned about morality to a degree, where as black isn't. Its the same with red mages; they're inclined to fire magic because within the internal logic of the MtGverse, but not the real world, Fire Magic either attracts people who are implusive or people who are implusive are just better at it. And as I said, while they can try and say black isn't evil, most black aligned characters within MtG are going to look it to most people who have a sense of morality, as opposed to black and their disregard for that.

I ended up using it as a Control Magic that turned their creature into a 6/5 until it died, at which point I got to Control Magic another creature. Seems pretty good in a limited format made up of mostly 2/2's...or like, any Limited format.

Ya the answer is definitely that wizards is so lost that even the entirely self-designed system they created to describe their characters is something that they can't get right, or ever accurately describe

Hey everyone my buddy and somewhat infamous troll CML's chapbook kickstarter campaign just dropped. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/itscml/a-brief-history-of-magic-cards Please check it out. It should make a good gift for you to give to people who know you play magic but don't understand why we invest so much time in to this children's game. It has some sweet rewards tiers too. Full disclosure: I've done some editing on it but am not related in any way to the kickstarter production.

CML is a habitual Magic junkie who's been called an “earthy, crunchy intellectual” by Donnie Wahlberg. His work has been compared to “Popeye’s Chicken” by Andy Richter. He’s written for Gawker, Kotaku, The Daily Dot, The Seattle Weekly, and more. Within Magic, he has gained notoriety for his outspoken views and winning a big tournament in an altered state. hahaha, who writes this about themselves

I have read his writing and I think while it is of poor quality it is consistent with the quality of writing that magic players would like. His character notwithstanding I have read his writing and found it wanting.
