my girlfriends cousin was a parachute rigger and then he got out and bummed around at his grandpas house. Stole a couple thousand from him, got kicked out and moved to Vegas. Apparently he just gambles all the time and lives in a poo poo area of Vegas. I kept telling her not to but she kept sending him a couple hundred dollars every month because he said he "was trying to get back on his feet". Dude has never bothered to try to get even disability from the VA for whatever reason even though he can. He just recently got beat the gently caress up and robbed of the money he had just won at a casino, along with his car. My girlfriend finally realized he'd been probably blowing the money she sent to him at the casinos. I kept loving telling her not to send him money, and secretly I could tell he was a piece of poo poo because he just loving mooches off his family and smoked weed and acted like he had PTSD or some bullshit when he never loving deployed.

Had two cousins join the army, then not last more than a year combined. Sisters one after the other. The first joined, got married to some loser from high school, went AWOL with some other guy, and got kicked out. This was after some other relative had told her that the army sucks, and maybe she wasn't really cut out for it. Her younger sister's story is a bit more ambiguous. She joined, then allegedly her boyfriend beat her up and pushed her down a flight of stairs. So that's supposedly why she got out. Then she went and had three kids right after each other. Because she didn't realize that antibiotics cancle ouy birth control, and just being dumb in general. Now years later she claimed her husband beat her up, but suspiciously she's the one who isn't allowed to have custody of the kids. I was always a bit suspicious of her reasons for not being on the army anymore, so it kind of seems like domestic abuse is her go-to excuse whenever she fucks up. Anyway the older one did some community college for a nursing thing and still hasn't graduated. She's a year or more older than me so at least 28. The younger one did some community college too. Seems like she has all the time in the world to study now that she isn't allowed to be a parent, but who knows? Personal preference is they stay down in Whitetrashistan where they belong.

I had to work my way up through remedial math classes in night school and took Trig from some guy who made it pretty clear he had no idea what was going on. He couldn't solve problems on the board and usually lectured and gave examples direct from the text. Lecturing out of the text in a history class is one thing, but in a math class just lol Luckily, Trig is straightforward enough that I managed to get a C based on what I remembered from high school and because he let us have an index card for the exams, on which I basically wrote a microscopic encyclopedia of relations and identities I still need Calc II, but this math journey is gonna be over soon and man I am glad for it

Myself and some 17 year old mildly autistic kid hosed up Trig for the rest of our class in college by getting a 99% and a 103% respectivly as final grades, with a pain in the rear end professor who only grades on a curve. Rest of the class was under 72%

Last I heard some people are still using a variant of it. The guy that did the manual data entry and had nothing to do with the work I made got an award for it. Apparently if I had actually written myself up for one I would have got one too, but I just couldn't find it in me to write an award for myself.

Last I heard some people are still using a variant of it. The guy that did the manual data entry and had nothing to do with the work I made got an award for it. At the Naval Hospital I was at before I got out they had a commander *printing* out data from CHCS (which looks like MSDOS but is programmed in an arcane proprietary language that prevents it from interacting with any modern computing in any way) and manually entering it back into excel. It took him like 4 hours a day. I figured out how to make Excel auto-input and format the data, but I trashed it and never told anybody about it until I got out because the command was trying to justify not hiring a data analyst and I figured my small contribution to improving one dude's life would significantly negatively impact too much poo poo down the road. Sorry, not sorry. LOL if you're still in. Also the command put out that graphs submitted to the executive steering committee should have trend lines on them so they could see which direction things were headed, which lead to trend lines with r-squared values of like .2 being used to determine GOOD OR BAD. The guy who I worked for in the business office was a super smart dude with a dual MBA/MPH from an Ivy with a specialty in humanitarian aid logistics who was told he would be planning humanitarian aid missions and whatnot, then got stuck as a hospital admin divo in a podunk MTF in the middle of the desert. He was so jaded we would just sit there and laugh about how poorly the triad understood statistics.

I'm happy for the break. I'm maybe getting 4-5 weeks off between now and December. Of course I'm working 2 days, and spending 3 days working on my research project. So it's not like I'm off having a fun old time. I've got to have a vacation once I graduate. Gotta find someone who isn't a broke un-adventurous piece of poo poo.

Also don't feel bad, Gen Chem is really really loving hard. I've now done all the pre-med curriculum, plus immunobiology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics and advanced cell bio/biochem and my gen chem class dunked on me the hardest out of any of that list of pain. poo poo's hard, yo. After my gen chem II final I seriously considered dropping off the pre-med track and going to nursing school.
