Thanks for the heads up, I'll probably sub then, at LEAST for a month. I know I never actually burned through the whole 50 story even on my one character that DID hit 50, so I might see what I can do as is and make sure I at least appreciate what a sub does for me.

Clicked the referral link, too.

Edit: Oh god I've made a mistake, I opened all my mail and now I have four sets of armor clogging my inventory I don't want to throw away right at the start. I don't think I access a bank for a while. I only have one inventory slot free now.

Also I guess I already had some of the stuff from the referral link purchased already because I can't claim them.

I just finished sith inquisitor storyline and I found it kinda lacking compared to the sith warrior story. Starting the BH storyline and apparently Nico is bugged and isnt summonable since the new chapter release. Nice work EA. My rating on the class story is

The Inquisitor story grew on me the second time through and especially for KotFE where the Inquisitor makes a really good Outlander. The Inquisitor gets the best one-off Rishi mission too.

The great thing about the Inquisitor is that it's the only story where you're not somebody's lackey the entire time. Instead of being a good little servant and doing as your told you're making your own way in the world.

So about PvP in this game!

Bioware are staffed with PvE retards who took out everything they hate about PvP in other games from SWTOR PvP. Examples:

The ability to cancel a cast by running through the caster
They added auto-tracking on casted and channeled abilities, simplifying positioning for ranged classes
Nerfed CC to uselessness
Gave everyone a stun
Made melee range 4 meters, making it easier than ever to stay on a target

Maybe a lightside playthrough would make it more interesting but I found the story arc good until after the conclusion of Act 1. I found the whole risky ghost power acquisition to defeat bigger baddie too contrived for my tastes. It didnt help that the final act writing seemed like a lazy way to conclude by giving you a easy position on the dark council. It felt like it was an easy handout. I hope a lightside BH playthrough is going to be good.

I did BH lightside (i do all the classes lightside) and i think that is what made it such a boring experience.

SW/SI lightside means you are a force user that has no inherent need to brutally murder everyone they come across or gain power over but it doesn't necessarily mean you agree with the republic just because you don't murder 7 kittens for breakfast every morning.

On BH there is no such distinction. Several bounties make you an "evildoer" regardless of your actions as your job is inherently evil. People you capture are e.g. scientists that defected from Empire becuase they didn't want to make WMDs.

There is also not much change in the story or reaction from NPCs to you being lightside as BH. On SW/SI there was plenty of storyline reactions or flat out changes to the storyline.

Lightside Bounty Hunter is really fun, but it's more fun if you go into it with a "gently caress you, I do what I want" attitude. In the case of the BH, a lot of the light side options are "gently caress you, I do what I want." Also you probably want to tell the Mandalorian leader to get hosed, since "honor" usually means "follow through with the dark side option because you said you would."

As one of the highest ranked players the last six seasons I've got to say you're a very strange individual. So they nerfed CC to uselessness...and yet it matters that everyone has a stun. :psyduck:

4 meter melee is pretty standard, WoW is ~4.4 meters. If you're trying to tell me melee has an easy time in this game then just lol.

Also really looking forward to this chapter. I was afraid that each one was going to be focused on an early companion, but seems we're going back into the main storyline again. Looking forward where this will lead, Valkorian is really one of my favorite characters that came out of this.

Stuns aren't CC. As one of the highest ranked players you should know this.
WoW's melee range is measured in game as 4.4 meters but is on a different scale to SWTOR. 4 meters is ridiculous on SWTOR.

Then what would you consider CC? Because if you take stuns out of the mix, most classes DON'T have CCs.

I know you're a stupid troll who only posts to troll, but come on.

There are different types of CC in all MMORPGS -

Hard stun - A CC that causes someone to be unable to do anything during the duration of the stun. Example - electrocute on Sith Inquisitors.

Soft stun - A stun that causes people to be unable to do anything during the duration, but is broken by damage. Example - carbonize for Powertechs

Mez - A type of soft stun that lasts longer but generally has a much longer cooldown - examples are Whirlwind for Inquisitors or Concussion Missile for Mercs

Sap - A type of soft stun that can only be used when both targets are out of combat, broken by damage. Example, Mind Trap for Assassins.

CC stands for "Crowd Control", stunning is controlling someone.

Carbonize isnt broken by damage wat.

also roots and slows are CC as well. but yes, mezzes aren't the only CCs, it's simply that most people say 'CCing' when popping a mez, and hard stunning when using a hard stun.

Crowd control are abilities you use to incapacitate a secondary target for an extended period of time (in SWTOR 8 seconds). One target is a duel, two or more targets is a crowd.
Anything you use on the single target you are already fighting is not crowd control, it's single-target control.

It's sad that I have to keep telling this to the current generation of MMO players.

Edit: The fact there's almost no CC in this game is the reason why focusing is so powerful in PvP.
