They won't because it's a business that doesn't take much effort. Those who usually follow through end up dead, executed, or serving time. The whole thing is a pyramid scheme of retardation that goes all the way down until some chucklefuck takes it seriously and completely destroys his/her future. There's a ton of cold, dead hands types, most aren't actually radical. I'm one. Do I think we need stiffer laws and regulations? Yep, ban handguns, #1. All Americans need really are shotguns, up through to semi-auto, 10 round holding combat rifles like the SKS or Garand. Those two narrow parameters cover hunting, sporting, defense, and the narrow, unrealistic threat of strife. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. Ban small capacity semi-autos or shotguns? People will lose their poo poo. America is weird in that we do have some substantial wilderness. If there's a hurricane in my area I might be ok due to my proximity to major arteries. A few miles out of town? 300 pound black bears and loving mountain lions. There is always a very small need for a firearm, yet our need for a firearm does actually skew far greater than, say, in the UK

Guns are tools, nothing more. Just yesterday I shot a perfectly useless log into a fully functional birdhouse. Sure, it's a little rough and splintery. But shoot some peanut butter on it and then fire some shotgun shells filled with birdseed at it and you won't be able to keep the birds away. Or the squirrels, which is why I spend night and day with my sights aimed at that birdhouse. loving squirrels ruining my birdnest.

To be fair, on the evening of the arrests they said everyone would be free to leave the compound without fear of being arrested (immediately). Unless there was specifically a warrant for Cooper that night, which I don't remember hearing about, it's likely they drove right up to the FBI checkpoint, showed their IDs, and were sent on their way. Sure, he disappeared from social media, but considering they arrested him without a nationwide manhunt, I don't think they smuggled him off to a secret bunker or anything.

I thought the occupiers clogged the toilets? I mean it seemed like an office space fit for maybe 10-20 people there during normal office hours. Having ~40 people living there full time making GBS threads out bags of sugar free gummy bears was not the load those toilets were made for. Although I do like the idea of the occupiers immediately going feral after the night of the arrest. cumshitter has issued a correction as of 20:44 on Mar 17, 2016 |

Kazak_Hstan posted:https://m.soundcloud.com/opb/010916cowsmeeting I listened to some of this on my daily walk. The COWS (Coalition of Western States) people are transparently pro-occupation to the point where they're annoying the Harney officials. Here's how the first 20 minutes can be summed up: "How can we help?" "Don't meet with them." "But we want to help." "Don't meet with them." "OK, we know we're outsiders, but we want to help." "Don't meet with them." "OK but how can we help?" Judge Grasty: "If any of you meet with them I will release this recording because none of us Harney folk will bear the responsibility for prolonging this." Then this conversation happens a bunch of times throughout the meeting: "So you're not going to go in guns blazing?" "Yes." "Really?" "Yes." "Really?" "Yes." "The FBI too?" "Yes." "Really?" Then around 27:00 a local sheriff deputy starts talking about all the threats they've been receiving, and Michelle Fiore really shows her hand with whose side she's on. They had been talking about threats in the community. Strangers in their small town walking around with guns, strangers having emotionally charged conversations about the occupation with officials' wives in the grocery store, people being followed back to their home, a billboard truck driving around their town with "gently caress ISLAM" on it, the sheriff receiving death threats via email, and Judge Grasty says he's seen multiple people come up his driveway and turn around (he was going everywhere except his courthouse armed when this conversation occurred). Michelle waves this away stating that she wants some concrete evidence, while also offering some backhanded criticism to local law enforcement about not pulling over the gently caress ISLAM truck to get their ID and/or pull them on profanity charges, at which point one of the sheriff deputies says that a BLM employee was followed by a pickup driven by some men who told her she ought to die. Michelle shuts up for a bit at that point. Shortly after that one of the sheriff deputies mention that the head sheriff isn't there, at which point the COWS people get all pissy about them not being important enough to meet him, especially Michelle. The Harney folk explain that the sheriff has been working 24/7 for the past few months (apparently the Harney folk had forewarning of the occupation) and that he had better poo poo to do than to show up to a meeting most of them had only heard about 4-5 hours prior. The COWS folk keep griping, and then one of the sheriff deputies shuts them up by saying the COWS folk hosed up coordinating the meeting, at which point the matter is dropped. Judge Grasty says the sheriff served two tours and that the only mistake he's ever known him to make as letting Ammon and some other guy into his office while armed. Then later this great conversation happens (I'm paraphrasing heavily here): Judge Grasty: "We have outsiders in our town telling us how to handle this land management situation. Several important pieces of land management legislation have originated here. We are pioneering this. And now Ammon is setting us all back." Idaho State Rep: "How can you blame this on him? How can you say his actions affect you?" JG: "Aren't you a politician? Don't you get how this works? He is making GBS threads on decades of our work and distorting the message all responsible elected officials who feel the same as we do have been trying to put forth for years." ISR: "Yeah, but, I don't see why you can say it affects you." I'm not even at the point where Carly calls for revolution but it is chock full of idiocy. I wouldn't recommend listening on headphones if anyone is interested. The volume levels vary greatly depending on who is speaking. I think Grasty kept the recorder right in front him. cumshitter has issued a correction as of 07:40 on Jul 1, 2016 |

Lol I finished it and at the end the COWS people are trying to convince the Harney representatives that they shouldn't call the occupiers terrorists. Then they talk about how they were looking into cutting off the power, which they couldn't, and a COWS person asks, "You're just going to let them freeze?" No poo poo, doofus. The entire conversation is amazing because it's so blatantly obvious that the people who showed up are on the occupier's side and continue to ask the people of Harney to understand and help them, even after Judge Grasty blows up at them because his wife is so terrorized that she sleeps with a gun on her night table when her husband isn't around. Grasty shouts, "You don't think my wife is terrorized!?" when the COWS reps plead with them to not hurt the feelings of the occupiers by calling them terrorists, and then they complain that they've been hearing such hurtful and insensitive language from no less than the governor himself. cumshitter has issued a correction as of 02:35 on Mar 18, 2016 |

"They're not terrorists, they're good citizens who've been pushed too far, and they feel they don't have another choice." There's not a suicide bomber for al quaeda who ever thought he could change poo poo by voting so the only difference between the occupiers and them is the color of their skin and which book they hold aloft giving them divine right to do violence to people to enact political change. e: oh and the courage to actually die for what you believe in instead of piss and moan asking why your failed violent insurrection of the united states got any feathers ruffled at all we're just camping...
