I was even going to say "and maybe Colombia" but I couldn't think of any current examples. Are there any Colombians who can't climb though?

I don't think Junior track wins really count either.

Also I don't think frooomy was ever a track rider was he?

They'll only look silly if they bust a big name and don't levy heavier punishment. Which will probably happen.

Drugs for some, miniature motors for the non responders!

You know, as much as I dislike Froome, assuming the "everyone is on drugs" part, is it his fault for being a high responder? Or just his fault for being an rear end in a top hat.

Thomas did suddenly hit the spotlight a bit more last year but his transition from track to road took 5 years. Thomas' TdF placings have gradually improved since 2007, and he's hardly shot to GT contender status off the track.

A family of criminals and proven cheats, firing a clear warning shot that motors in bikes can be found and wont be tolerated..... No, the UCI would look dumb if it did anything different.

Plus maybe if she hadn't tried a truly lame and pathetic excuse, she might have gotten some leeway. A bike in her pit with her geometry, colours and fitting was someone else's? Come on, that's just stupid.

They've been busting Astana and now Katusha left, right and centre for doping (and that's just recently), but nothing much happens. But this, a poor motor kid from a sorry family, her we gotta get real hard. In fact, she should ever be allowed to ride again. After all, cheating is not allowed in cycling.

Didn't the UCI try to throw the book at Astana and have their licence pulled but the licencing commission said 'nah its fine they can carry on'?

I dunno that I can't consider her poor. Maybe the finances are different in Europe for lower level racing, but is she not playing thousands of Euros for equipment, not to mention a hidden motor?

Because when they go after well funded doping road teams they get taken to arbitration and lose.

It's also much better for cycling's image of the people being dragged through the mud are as far removed from the WT (and all the money) as possible. It's a happy medium between catching and punishing the cheats publicly while being able to insist the big events are clean.

Sagan needed 1 second in the 10km ITT. Finally living up to the stereotype that pros can use every gain they can get out of their equipment.

They tried to add another climb (La Manie) inbetween the Cipressa and the Poggio to favor climbers/attackers, but the rainy weather last year caused a mudslide weeks before the race and they had to ditch the climb and keep the traditional finale. The sprinters were happy but guys like Nibali / Valverde / etc were dissapointed.

The big mountain stage at Tirreno Adriatico was also cancelled last week, which prob cost Nibali a chance of victory there.

The anticipated storms never arrived so the stage would have been perfectly safe.
