Why didn't we get the tiny little generator fixed? Who knows; because army. So we spent days at a time zipped up in sleeping bags hating life and listening for calls for fire in the same winter that froze to death thousands of Chinese volunteers and debbah dawgs in ravines. And then I went to Afghanistan and nothing worked right ever, but we lost all of our rotary wing seats to contractors who had to be flown out to verify that equipment that did nothing still wasn't working right, but their boss at BAF would order the part and they'd be back in 6 to 8 weeks to verify they ordered and brought the wrong part out, and that the useless thing still wasn't working, but I didn't mind the excuse to skip showers or vegetables or radar tracking for the constant IDF or working radios or battery chargers or MK19 grenade launchers, heh, hundred and first air assault hooah
